MERRY CHRISTMAS, MY FANFRIEND!
The snow had been swirling in random white patterns, following only the wind's direction. Sherlock and John were enjoying a wonderful evening in (mostly filled with kissing), Castiel and Dean had been walking about London with the angel enjoying the snow. The Doctor had yet to make an appearance, still grieving over his lost love. The master was greatly missed by his dear friend, Jim, but he was spending the evening with his sister and hoping his wife's flight wouldn't be much longer. Amanda and Carlee were running around outside, not even noticing their mother was missing. Karlee, Clarissa's sister, and her daughter were on their way, as well as Keith (minus his hundred kids) and Dylan. Jim's mother in laws were hopefully going to be coming, as well. Karlee's daughter was probably going to be stopping by 221B to see her boyfriend, Hamish, before joining the rest of her family at the Moriarty household. Lucifer was in pain, Clarissa and Jim had tried inviting him over, but he had refused, and was likely sulking somewhere, complaining he had no family after he'd refused his true family's offer. Clarissa was off somewhere in America, trying to catch a serial killer, enjoying part of her Christmas with Reid, Penelope, and Emily. Despite how often she'd told him he'd nothing to worry about, Jim worried she'd suddenly decide Reid was a better match for her. The criminal had no idea if her flight would even make it this Christmas, but he held out hope she'd come home soon enough to open the presents beneath the tree.
"Jim, lovely to see you, again!" Clarissa's mum, Ali, held her arms open as she greeted her son-in-law, soon engulfing him in a hug he found awkward, but was fine for her. Kasie snorted at her brother's uncomfortableness. Sebastian came in, carrying two drinks in his hands. After handing one to Kasie, he pulled the corresponding arm around her, taking a swig of his brandy.
"Maybe he'd be more comfortable if it was Issa, eh, beautiful?" Sebastian asked her, sending a wink her way. She smirked, shrugging it off.
"Probably, but my dear sister-in-law isn't here. Poor Jimmy's got a broken heart!" She said just loud enough for him to hear. She got a cold glare in return, before he went to greet his other mother-in-law.
"Ah, Mady. Looking lovely as ever!" He layered on the charm, knowing how Mady felt about him. She forced a smile for her wife's sake, and nodded to him before also giving him a bone-crushing hug. Sebastian and Kasie couldn't help themselves. The moment the second awkward hug was broken, they struck again.
"Wonder if she's with one of her attractive friends... Doctor, maybe?" They both laughed at the extremely pissed-off look Jim grew.
"Will you two shut up?!" He hissed. Mady and Ali laughed to themselves, before Ali put a hand gently on his shoulder. The contact made him squirm, but he knew better than to object.
"Oh, Jim, Clarissa isn't a cheater! You've nothing to worry about, Deary!" He forced himself to smile at her, hoping his vacant eyes wouldn't give him away. Luckily, they just moved on, letting him release a caged breath.
"The Doctor, or Spece-" They both knew it was coming, and they were ready to laugh when it did.
"DON'T SAY HIS NAME!" Doctor Spencer Reid had been Jim's absolute number one rival since he met her. They'd actually been dating when Jim first fell for the Dual-citizen-shipped FBI agent. Usually when a girl breaks up with someone for another, they get the message that they aren't interested... Reid (as Jim preferred to call him), didn't seem to get said message. The couple sitting on Jim's sofa began laughing their butts off, Jim internally cringing at himself for letting them win.
"Shouldn't you be with your little band of freaks or something, sister-mine?" Jim hissed. Kasie was a level 10+ agent at S.H.I.E.L.D., and had (despite his protests) married Jim's best friend. Much to Jim's detest, it'd seem everything in his life belonged to the side of the angels. Suddenly, a snowball was slammed into the back of his head.
"He's just upset because even he knows she belongs with S-" He got a face full of the snow off the ground as Jim walked by. Using a small flicker of a flame, Kasie quickly melted the snow, and dried him off. Their son, Dan, was coming over with his boyfriend soon, and (hopefully) Clarissa would be back to keep everyone in check, by then. Crowley popped in suddenly, and proceeded by dragging Sam and Gabriel behind him as he walked further into the lounge.
"Why do we have to be here? Especially when Clare isn't?" Jim audibly shouted, though it was muffled by a pillow, showing his irritation and pain at his wife's tardiness.
"Because Samsquatch, Crowley thinks Lucifer follows wherever we, and therefore our love, go." Sam huffed at his boyfriend's usual audacious personality, everyone else just snickered.
"Where is Clarissa, anyway?" Sam asked, mostly to relieve the unsettling tension that had arisen. A split second later he got two responses.
"Bad question, dude." Obviously from Sebastian, and from his room, Jim shouted, "PROBABLY WITH THAT TWAT!" Another muffled scream. Sam rolled his eyes, Gabriel along with him.
"Chillax. There's a case, real bad one. The Doctor's going to pick her up when they're done..." Gabriel commented, completely nonchalant. Jim sighed in relief, it sounding throughout the house hold, a small 'thank god' as well, and well, you know Gabriel...
"Or she's shagging Spence!" Everyone burst out laughing except Sam who slapped his angel on the shoulder. Jim screamed some very colourful words. It wasn't soon after the TARDIS appeared in the lounge, Clarissa stepping out, covered in blood, looking in quite a damp mood. Reid cautiously followed, and so did Derek, Penelope, Emily, and Hotch. Jim slinked back towards the lounge, nearly freaking when he saw all the blood.
"No one ask, I'm going to take a shower, a friend of mine will be over soon." She headed towards her room, Jim meeting her part of the way into the lounge, doting on her, despite her protests.
"The hell was that?" Kasie asked, finally looking back to the group that stepped out of the TARDIS. The Doctor finally joined them, still looking grief-stricken.
"Tough day." Reid answered, simply and shortly, the team nodding in agreement. Gabriel and Sam were finally allowed to stand, and the very first thing the tiny archangel did was pull Sam down for a much needed kiss, wrapping his legs around Sam's waist, and arms around his neck and hands buried in the oak locks as his lips attacked his lover's.
"At least two people know how to enjoy the holidays." Sebastian commented, a bit disappointed in himself and his wife, now that they knew what happened. Kasie couldn't blame him, she felt the same.
Meanwhile, Birdie enjoyed a small Christmas with Hamish and his fathers, John and Sherlock, passing gifts around the small tree while Sherlock continued to be an arse. Birdie unwrapped her gift from Hamish, instantly bringing her hands to cover her excited gasp as she looked at the sparkling necklace in its thin black box.
"Just so you always remember I love you." Hamish added a small commentary, making sure to add on some extra sweetness. It's not that he wanted to go to her family's Christmas at the Moriarty Manor, and meet them all... okay, well, he definitely did. Her favorite aunt happened to be Clarissa Moriarty, but she hated said aunt's husband, James Moriarty. He had a tendency to be quite rude.
"You're not coming, Hames." John and Sherlock chuckled at their son's twenty ninth failed attempt.
"We wouldn't let you go to a Moriarty house party, anyways. Especially when we know he invited Lucifer." John mentioned, once again adding onto the spite Birdie had been attempting to control for awhile now.
"Well, Clarissa is a federal agent, and a dear friend, remember John?" Sherlock pointed out, knowing quite well how Birdie was feeling. Of all of Hamish's girlfriends, Birdie was, by far, his favorite. He didn't want John ruining this relationship for their son, too. Usually, he'd contribute to the failing relationship, laugh as they left crying, but not this time.
"And Lucifer isn't going." Birdie hissed to no one in particular, but it was definitely directed at John.
"C'mon Bir! You know I love watching your cousin's YouTube channel! It'd be great to meet him!" Birdie ran her hand through her hair, considering. Finally, she sighed.
"Fine, but no drama!" It was the only thing she didn't want. Drama was constant in her family, especially with her uncle Jim's constant jealousy of every male that even glanced at her aunt and his sister being married to his best friend and them LOVING to pick on him for it. She didn't need Hamish to add even more to the equation. Hamish gave a quick celebration, before pulling Birdie to her feet, and forcing her to dash out the flat with him before his fathers could object.
Clarissa came out smiling, Jim hanging onto her, whispering things in her ear that seemed to be adding to her constant laughter.
"You've got to admit, he's got a knack for making her smile." Derek commented to Reid who tried to act indifferent as he nodded.
"Yeah, I suppose." Reid picked up another cookie, munching it quickly. Carlee and Amanda came running in, giggling and pushing each other. They ran into their parents, Amanda instantly having something to say.
"YOU'RE NOT MY REAL MUM!" She shouted, "YOU DON'T KNOW ME!" Before running away. Carlee rolled her eyes as their parents laughed a bit. She started chasing Amanda, tackling her to the ground.
"Don't disrespect your mom, Amanda." And then they went into the kitchen to gorge themselves on cookies.
"How'd we end up with one British and one American kid?" Jim whispered in her ear. Clarissa shrugged, never really considering them odd.
"I don't know, Jim. But we got an Irish one, and we have one for each of their parents' nationalities!" Jim smirked, thinking of the other side of that, "I didn't mean it like that!" She slapped his shoulder, causing him to chuckle. The doorbell rang, and Clarissa went and opened the door.
"You must be Phil!" She greeted Dan's boyfriend, "I'm Clarissa, it's a pleasure to meet you!" She said to the black-haired boy. He smiled brightly, his blue eyes shining at her, and the fact Dan talked about him.
"Pleasure to meet you too, Clarissa!" He bounded into the house, Dan chuckling behind him. Him and his aunt shared a knowing look. Dan followed his fluffy ball of pure sunshine inside, being followed by Birdie and Hamish, Karlee (Birdie's mum) following closely behind. Hugs were exchanged before Clarissa noticed you also standing out there, completely stricken by the man standing proudly in the lounge. Clarissa pulled you in, giving you a quick hug.
"That's the Doctor! Go get him!" She shoved you into the man, who instantly smiled at you. This was one beautiful Christmas.
