23: " The Distance Between Us "

Kiya was busy at work. Taking over and being a leader was something she was good at. With Amenei by her side along with her hand maidens, she was contending issues and dealing with matter knocking them down as they came.

"What a stressful day. I am actually looking forward to go to sleep early, "Kiya said as she sank down in her warm bath.

" You are taking control of matters perfectly My Queen, "Rada said.

" I expected nothing less than the best from you My Queen.  I think you have exceeded that also, "Ladonna added.

" Mhmm, thank you for that. I am trying my best. I do not know how he does it. I am just trying to keep up. "

" It has only been three days My Queen, you are doing well, "Nathifa commended.

" I appreciate all the commendations. I wonder if he has reached his destination safely? "

" He should have Dear Queen and he will be back sooner than you think, "Nathifa smiled.

Kiya got out of her bath and was soon ready for bed. Her hand maidens left after make sure she was satisfied and the guards checked her room before returning to their post outside the room.

Kiya's P. O. V

I do not see why Khai had to order all this to be done. He leaves me in charge of Egypt be he still does not think I can handle myself.

It has been so lonely these past three nights. I have never been in my own before,  he was always here with me. Where is a phone when you need one. I could just call or play music or something. It just gets harder to sleep every night, I would just lay here and wait for morning to come, work all day and restart the cycle. I lived on honey tea to put me to sleep for a few hours but I would wake up in the middle of the night by my dreams or a sound in dark and I had no one with me. I just hate that feeling. I guess that I am lon-... No way, I am just not used to this that is all. I just need to put all these thoughts to rest and get some sleep.

I woke up with the warm sun on my face. Wait... Sun! I must have overslept and nobody even came to wake me, at least to check if I was dead or something. I had no time for long bath or any help so I did everything myself. I will get an earful from Ladonna when she meets up with me a she will let me have it.

I rushed out of the room and bumped into the guards. I totally forgot that they were there.

"I am so sorry, excuse me, "I apologized continuously as I dashed down the hall.

" I am here, "I said breathless. " I am so sorry, I guess I over slept, "I rubbed the rest of my sleep away.

" You looked really tired so I left you to rest some more, "Amenei greeted.

" But I need to wake up early to get an early start. "

" If you are tired you will not work effectively and there will be no early start or there maybe no start at all. "
