She felt a warmness that made her stir in her drunken sleep. Her arms dangled in mid air as she felt the feeling of being carried. Her eyes too tired to open but she knew the feel of her handler all too well. She groaned, her voice hoarsed and scratchy. Her skin came in contact with cool sheets that soon surrounded her.
"Why were you on the ground? " The voice was low but clearly disgruntled.
Kiya slowly opened her eyes just enough for her to see the glary image of Khai sitting beside her.
"I fell asleep, " She struggled to keep her vice clear.
"The entire happenings Kiya. Right now. "
Kiya went straight to the point not even questioning Khai.
"So you. . . " He pressed his thumbs against his temples. "You just locked yourself up in here? Kiya? "
"I never locked myself in here. Did you not walk through that door without problem? "
"You were feeling this way did you not let Ladonna know... I told you to let me know if-"
Kiya slammed her hand on the bed stopping Khai."Do you hear yourself? I know I am not shouting so I wonder if you could take your tone down. I was drained, I fell asleep on the floor. Nothing else, nothing serious. What is the punishment for resting? " Kiya looked Khai dead on the eyes. She brush her hair down in her face in frustration.
"This is a stupid argument, " Kiya mumbled. "I will not argue with you Pharaoh." Kiya pushed herself off the bed taking her time to stand up. "You may tell me whatever you feel about my actions when you do not feel so strongly. " She turned leaving Khai sitting at the edge of the bed still quite listening to her speak.
Khai glanced over his shoulder before grabbing Kiya's wrist pulling her back in his direction.
"What is the matter I said that-" He pulled her in for a hug. Draping his arms around her waist he moved her closer. Kiya stared at him blankly with her hands dropped at her side.
"You have such a temper, " She whispered down at him.
She stood in a moment of silence.
"I was mad. I was upset. It felt like the last time and I did not know how to handle it, " Khai sighed.
"I am upset because I felt as if I was going to watch you go through such a hell and I felt so guilty. I just... " He trailed off.Placing her arms on his shoulders Kiya hugged him burying his face in the valley between her breasts. stroking his hair almost cradling him. " I understand, I got frustrated. You just need you to stop worrying so much about me because I can handle myself. Stop feeling guilty, stop feeling uneasy with me. Understand? "
Khai sighed. "But I worry without even wanting to."
"You can just tell me about it. Talking helps and I know things have been really hard on you and you brush it off and behave as if you can take it. You can take it, but can you handle it all on your own. You tell me all the time to ask for help if I needed it. Talk to you if I needed it. "
"We never follow our own advice. "
"And we really do need to. "
"What you think... Of? "
" I cannot tell you I know, but it may not be anything more than what it presented itself to be. I will watch it, I promise. "
"Do you think it is nothing? "
"To tell the truth, I have no idea what to think. "
"Oh, " He replied lowly. "Well, I needed this. "
"Hmm, " Kiya gave a small smile. "You triggered my motherly instincts. "
"This is the type of luxury My son gets? "
"When he gets fussy, I need to slow him down and get him calm. Settle the atmosphere around him. "
This is... "
"Nice? "
"Could you just stay for a while? "
"You really like this. Sure, I can stay for a while then I get back to Naeem to make sure he is not upset. "
"And you will make sure Ladonna knows... Please?"
"I will. "
"Good." Khai snuggled up on her as she slowly swayed from side to side.
"You men act so big and tough but really you are the biggest of babies. "
