Kiya's P.O.V

"What?" I was totally caught off guard. I turned to Ladonna and she smiled and nodded.

"I told it would come."

She helped me up and followed me outside. I saw Amenei waiting for me impatiently with Re on his shoulder.

"Are you going to read it to me here?" I asked. "You look more eager to know what is happening than I do."

"I just need to know that he has not made any bad decisions yet,"he sighed.

"I think every one needs to be informed about the well being of their Pharaoh." I went in the direction to the throne room and they followed. The room was packed with servants when we arrived. Everyone looked jittery .

"Would you like me to read My Queen?" Ladonna and Amenei asked asked unison.

"Umm, that is fine. I am sure I can manage." I stop in front of the crowd eager to hear the state of their Pharaoh. I clear my throat as I prepared to read. "My people, My Queen we are all alive and well!"

Sighs of relief lingered in the crowd. They looked up at me . I looked back down to continue reading when I realized that was all it said.

"Go on My Queen,"a servant prompted me.

"Well, that is all."

"My Lord never ceases to amaze me,"Amenei sighed.

"My Lord got to the point. That is important information we need," Ladonna answered.

"Maybe for you Maiden."

"No on called your name Scribe!"Ladonna growled.

"Both of you. Why are you arguing about trivial details?"

"Apologies My Queen," they bowed lightly as they exchanged angry glances.

"Now I do agree with Ladonna that it was to the point with the important information but I have go with Amenei also as him being well does not mean the situation is as well." I turned to the gathering of servants. "I am afraid that is all." I turned to Ladonna. "Ladonna I will be going back to my room now."She nodded and followed. Re jumped up and down on Amenei's shoulder. I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Do you want to come with me Re?" He crawl from Amenei's shoulder to the ground where I picked him up. "I see you wanted an invitation first."

"Kiya, I heard you got word from Khai?" Zahra caught me as I was about to walk off. Ladonna stepped back and faded into to background with Amenei.

"Yes, I did,"I replied.

"Can we walk and talk?" I turned around and glanced at Ladonna as she asked the question.

"Umm, of course,"I agreed.

"Thank you,"she led me in the direction of the garden.

"You know he did not send anything much. I could have told you what he said inside. All he said was that they were alive and well, nothing more."

"Oh. It was that short ?"

"As I said ,I could have told you inside but I get the feeling you have something to Say Princess."

"Me? No,not at the moment."

"So you brought me out here for nothing ?"

"Enjoy the fresh air,"she said as she walked off. "I think you need it." She left me standing by myself .

"She is so strange,"I sighed and Re looked at me in agreement. A feeling of familiarity came over me as I stood in the garden. I slowly walked to the center of the garden where the fountain was. I sat on the ledge and looked into the water . Re went his own way probably to find some one new to befriend, Memories flooded my mind in an instant , so much it made me feel overwhelmed.

"This is awful, "I mumbled. I swear I could picture him right beside me. I looked down on the the water and I swore I saw him standing right beside me. I squeezed my eyes shut and opened them again. It was only my reflection in the water. A single tear rolled down my face and I quickly wiped it away. "Do not cry my love, you can tell me whatever is bothering you. I would rather if you not cry, I am right here. I live to make you smile, tell what makes you unhappy." I got up and circled the fountain imitating Khai.
"I know you would say something like that or you would do something like tell me a story about your mother and you." I sighed as I took a seat at my previous spot. "I always liked them."

My heart felt heavy and my eyes glossed over. I promised myself I would not shed anymore tears and here I am on the verge to drown myself in my own tears.

"No not today," I squinted my eyes.

I was so overwhelmed, I even missed his presence. How can a person grow on someone so much that it makes their heart hurt everyday for them? How can you miss someone's everything? Just being around him, casually saying good morning or having the deepest heart to heart talks in the middle of the night when I am almost drunk with sleep. After everything we went through emotionally and all the events that happened in between while we were trying to figure things out until present day he is not only the person who took my heart, he is my best friend.

I shook my head trying to get rid of the thoughts exploding in my head but how could I stop thinking about him when everything I do reminds me of him. I brought Zahra into my home to take up her offer to make amends just for him. Honestly, she could have hated me to her grave and I doubt it would give me a heart attack. It was all for him, she was family in his eyes and I would not like to be the one who destroys that  because of my presence.

"My Queen, where are you? Are you doing well? I saw Princess Zahra return without you." I heard Ladonna going into a fit trying to find me,

"I am fine Ladonna, please breathe."

"Oh there you are," she let out a sigh of relief.

"There is no need to worry that much Ladonna."

"I just cannot help it.  Anything could have happened, she just left you out here," She scoffed.

" There there my dear," I got up and patted her on the back. "I am here quite fine." She gave me small and I flashed one back at her.

"Where is Re?"

"He left me too, probably off befriending someone who can feed him like a King."

"Are you going to look for him?"

"No, Re can find is way back home I am sure."
