Kiya's P.O.V
He would always be gone before I could wake up. I was too tired these days to get up before daybreak and do anything. I was left with the responsibility to take of everything while he is locked in meetings discussing who knows what.
I hovered over my work looking at it intently hoping that it would fill out itself. I squeezed my eyes shut and rubbed my temples, it was all too frustrating for me.
"Akil,"I turned to the young scribe I pulled out to be my advisor since Amenei is with Khai. "I need a break for a moment." I got up even before he answered and pulled myself down the hall. I locked up the doors then sat on the bed and pulled in a few deep breaths. Bad feelings washed over me and I curled up. It was just all this stress and the high frustration.
I felt a tap on my shoulder stirring me out of my sleep.
"Huh?" I mumbled with my eyes barely opened. "Khai?"
"No my Queen, it is Nathifa. I just came to see if you were doing well. You disappeared for quite a long while."
I sighed. "I fell asleep I guess."
"Is everything fine?" She asked concerned.
"Of course ," I said as I sat up.
" Are you sure?"
"Yes, yes I am." I got off the bed. "I have no idea how long I have been asleep. Akil must be our there struggling all alone."
I dragged my body to the door to finish the work I had.
"You do not have to push yourself My Lady."
"I really would not like the work to pile up on me. I need to keep everything in order... No one else is free to do it."
Nathifa opened her mouth to say something to me and did not even bother to.
"I am fine Nathifa,"I reassured her with a smile. She nodded even though I knew she did not believe me.
I got back to Akil who had a million and one things to report to me and it seemed that each and everyone was urgent and needed to be sorted out immediately.
"Akil, slow down! I cannot process all of this so quickly right now."
"Sorry," he apologized.
"Never mind ," I said realizing that I might have been harsh towards him. I took in a deep breath in. "Let's begin ...but slower please."

After hours I finally got to relax. I skipped dinner to be locked up in my room. As settled into my new found peace I was disturbed by a knock on the door .
"Mmm!"I grunted, giving permission to enter. I opened only one eye to see who entered but could only make out a blurry figure walking lazily towards me and then dropping down on the bed next to me.
"Oh, you."
"Heard you had a busy day. How are you feeling?"
"I feel horrible and exhausted and also irritated," I paused. "Khai!"
"Hmm? I mean...really? You must be tired."
"Yes I am actually and-" Before I could even finish there was a frighten long heavy snore followed by complete silence. He fell asleep in seconds. Why start a conversation with then? I knew he did not hear half of what I said.
"Might as well I sleep too then," I grumbled.
I had a feeling things were getting worse but I cannot know for sure because he would always change the topic when I brought it up. Soon all thoughts were pushed to the back of my mind and I too fell asleep.
Once again he was gone when I woke up. I grumbled under my breath as I moved over to the cooler side of the bed and tried to make myself comfortable but failed.
I sat up and took a deep breath. I felt more sick than tired. I got up and tried to walk it off but it lingered giving me an intense nauseating feeling. The walking around made it worse and I stopped where I was and sat on the Floor. I sat there feeling half dead for a long while before the feeling lifted.Ladonna soon arrived and saw me on the floor leaning on the wall next to the door. Before she even asked I gave the lame excuse that I just wanted to sit there. She made it pass and carried on with her duties.
"Ladonna stop. I cannot fit in this one properly."
"What?"
"It is too tight around my chest."
Ladonna sighed in frustration.
"What are you eating?" She narrowed her eyes at me.
"Food?"
Ladonna threw her hands up in defeat and left me there with my clothes gathered and stuck at my chest.
"What am I going to do ?" Ladonna went into a panic.
"Could you help me out of this?"I said loudly to get her attention.
"I apologize,"She snapped out of her trance and came to my aid.
"Thank you," I exhaled as I was finally freed.
"I will have get something for you to wear."
I honestly did not mind being clothes less at the moment so I could have an excuse to stay in.
"I will get something," Ladonna said as I secretly wished for her not to get anything.
These days everything was getting too fitted for me. Soon Ladonna came back with her arms full of clothes. "These will surely fit.""Thank you so much,"I said unenthusiastically.
I was obliged to go out and start the day. The thought of what to come made me tired.
I dropped myself on the bed once again. This was becoming routine for me. I longed to sleep for hours and craved Khai's attention but apparently I was not going to get any of the two.
These past days have not been great at all. Nothing seems to go right these days and I was tired of everything.
"Calm Kiya, no need to make it worse. Try not to think about it too much,"I tried to coach myself.
I tried to clear my mind. Rada warned me about over thinking everything. I closed my eyes and tried not to think about anything and still managed to feel overwhelmed.
I got up in frustration and just sat up on the bed hoping that sleep would come.He walked in without a word. I trailed him with my eyes as he made his way over to me and dropped himself in the bed still without saying a word to me. He turned his back to me and I just knew he did not look as if he was going to say anything. I felt hurt.
I lifted my hand over him.
"No questions. Just leave me please."
Is was like he read my mind. My fingers curled up like a fern at night and I drew my hand back. I held it close to my chest like I was consoling it. Without looking back at me he got up and walked out. I covered my face with my hands as I tried to process what happened.
