52:" Soon To Be Departed- The Second "

The worst of the morning had just passed for Kiya. It was just her and Ladonna against it all.

"I have a feeling,"Kiya said between breaths.

"I have it also but mine feeling is more of a certainty," Ladonna smiled . "Let me call Rada and then we will know. "

"I will here waiting on you . It is no as if I have somewhere to go," Kiya sighed.

Ladonna shook her head and went to call Rada.

Kiya settled in the bed. She remembered Khai's request. At that point it felt quite impossible as she never thought they would ever get close. Now she wondered if she would actually have his child, that is if she was even pregnant. Would she feel happy or disappointed about it as she never really wanted a child.

"My Lady ," Rada greeted from the door.
"Hello Rada."

"I am sincerely sorry that I was not able to be by your side."

"It is fine Rada." Kiya looked around. "Where is Ladonna?"

"I am here!" Ladonna waddled out from behind Rada holding a large container.

"What are you struggling with?" Kiya asked.

"I world like to ask the same question too because it is not as heavy as she makes it look."

"What is it though?" Kiya asked again.

"Wheat and barley."

"What are you going to do with it ?"

"We are going to find out if you are with child," Rada answered.

"How is food going to tell me that?" Kiya asked puzzled.

"You did say food solved everything ," Ladonna said.

"True but I did not expect all this. What should I do? " Kiya asked. " Is like a test? Like take up a hand full of the grains. If I get more barley than wheat I am and more wheat than barley I am not."

"Ha ha ha ! No My Lady, far from that." Rada laughed.

"You will have to urinate in the grains," Ladonna said casually.

"Excuse me? I will have to what?"

"Yes," Rada nodded.

"Explain how this will indicate."

"Well My Queen, as I said you will have to urinate in the grains. After that it will be left for a few days."

"If the grains do not sprout you are not with child but if they do you are," Rada finished .

Kiya burst out laughing. "That was good you two."

Rada and Ladonna stood in front of her with straight faces.

"Oh my , you two are serious."

"Are you going to do it My Queen?" Rada asked.

"I suppose. I would really like to see if this really works."

"So, did you do anything today?" Khai asked.

"No, nothing at all,"Kiya quickly replied.

"That was a fast reply."

"I have just been here all day. The sleep feels wonderful by the way."
