89: " Touch "

Khai's P. O. V

She drifted further and further away from me. If she went any further she would fall to the ground. 

" Kiya, " I tapped her on the shoulder and she pulled away from me.  I held on to her arm and pulled her gently towards me and I could feel her body tense on contact. 
I released her.   "Kiya? " I called her again, "Move any further and you are going to fall."

She exhaled deeply.

"Hmm? " She mumbled still half asleep as she tried to prop herself up with tired arms.

" All I am trying to say is be careful.  Come over before you fall off.  You cannot go any further. "

She groaned and slide herself back down and moved a little closer before going  back to sleep and I turned over and did the same.

I stretched my hands over and it landed on an empty cold place.  

She got up before me?

Was it late?  No,  she would have woken me up.  
On the other hand I do not sleep late.
I pushed myself up and opened my eyes slowly.  I scanned the room and found her  silhouette standing in front of the balcony doors.  

"Kiya? " My voice still heavy from my sleep.

She turned around.  "Did I wake you? "

"Not really.  Is something the matter? "

"No of course not.  I went to check on Naeem and I could not return to sleep and I found myself just staring out into the night. "

You do not seem like yourself. "

"Me?  No no.  Nothing to worry about.  I am just having a little trouble fLling asleep. " She walled over to her side of the bed and sat down.  "It will come.  It is nothing serious," She reassured me.

I wanted to ask her if other was a bad dream or she had something on her mind but she was trying to end the conversation and it would not have been the proper time to flood her with questions.  Even if my intentions were to help it might just frustrate her. I took her reassurance and went back to put myself to sleep.  It was no use pursuing anything at this hour.

I woke up with the warm early sun rays on my face.  I opened my eyes and rolled over to see Kiya fast asleep with half of her on the bed and her feet hanging off.   I drew myself off the bed and went over to her side and lifted her legs up and adjusted her as she looked uncomfortable but too tired to move. Soon after seeing retracted in her ball with her legs pressed up against her chest and her hands under her head for support. 

I shook my head as a smile reached my face. The occurrences from the night were still in the back on my mind\ but I found it better to think nothing of it so I did not frustrate  her.

Getting ready to go about my day all thoughts started to fade as I became more preoccupied.  Work seemed like an appropriate and convenient distractions. 

"My Lord? " Amenei tapped my shoulder. 

"Mhmm, " I delayed for 2 breaths.

"I trust everything is fine? "

"Of course.  Just perfect, " I replied nou shifting my focus from the task I had at hand.

"Should I take your word for it? " He now asked as a friend.

"Yes let it be.  I would not like to think about it. "

His gaze lingered on me for a while before it shifted.  " Wonderful morning My Queen.  You look radiant today. "  I looked up to see her in white just reflecting all her light in my  eyes.

"It is showing now is it,  finally.  About time," She entertained him. 

I sighed and mentally slapped myself. Worried over nothing.  Was I really going to bother her about something so trivial?  It probably was nothing and I thought about it too much.

She is glowing.  She seems as if she is walking on air.  She is finally at the place she wants to be and I feel refreshed seeing her genuinely smile again.

I do not want to ruin that.

"Hello!  Are you ignoring me now Pharaoh?" She now stood in front of me  with eyebrows raised and her hands resting  on her hips. 

"... Yes? "

"You were gone so far from here you did not even pickup my voice. "

I chuckled.  "Where are you off to? "

"I an tracking Re.  I have not interacted with him for so long because of... The situations.  I wonder how far his human manipulation has gone?  I wonder if I can still bribe him with grapes? "

"His pride has sky rocketed...  I do not know how that will work out, " Amenities commented.

"Mercy. Well I am looking for him and I have some business to catch up on, nothing much.  Just want to get things before Naeem gets fussy and starts his silent tantrums. "

"Hmm, " I smiled.

"Things are fine, " She beamed and patted me on the head with every word.

"Am I your pet now? " Drawing her attention to head rubs.

"Since day one," She laughed. "I will not keep you.  I will leave you to your work." She walked off and waved behind her.  "I have an agenda,  I am on your son's time! " She called out.

Amenei took his place beside me.  "I am not saying something was wrong but,  if that was the case, you look relived. "

"There was nothing to worry about. "
