Pharaoh Khai's P.O.V
I walked out and closed the door behind me. I could not face her at all. Things were going perfectly and now everything could just fall apart. She was just concerned and all I could do was push her away. I was always a straightforward person but there was no was I could say what was going on. I stayed in the room adjacent to her. I was tired, frustrated and angry. Spending the entire day in meetings as she had to handle everything else is me. I am up before she is awake and I return when she is asleep and it just continues. The last conversation we had felt like years ago. It all plagued me and I have to wonder if keeping this from her is the right thing even though it is destroying me.
My thoughts soon slowed down and I drifted off to sleep.I tossed around as the tapping and slamming got louder. I rose from my bed and went out in the hall to see where the noise was coming from.
"Ladonna!"I heard a cry.
I wondered what was going on as I was still clouded with sleep.
I soon saw Ladonna tearing through the hall and I followed after her. She stopped at my room, opened the doors and went inside."My Lady!"She called.
"What?" How did I not pick up that it was Kiya who called. As I stepped inside and closed the door I saw Kiya on the floor leaning on the wall with her eyes closed, her chest heaving and her cheeks stained with tears. Ladonna crouched down beside as she quizzed Kiya on how she was feeling.
"No I will just feel worse. Let me stay here until it goes away,"Kiya stopped Ladonna when she tried to move her.
I stood there unable to say a word. Nathifa walked by me as she inquired about Kiya's well being.
"I thought she was better."
"What?"Ladonna asked puzzled.
"Sometimes during the middle of her word she would tell Akil to take over for a while and she would disappear for hours on end until I find her in her room. I would ask if she was doing well and she would just say yes and return to her work saying she does not work to pile up on her."
Ladonna gave Kiya a look and then turns to Nathifa.
"I am sorry. I just thought she was frustrated and needed rest. She would tell someone if she wasn't feeling well. " Nathifa looked in my direction.
"Why are you looking at me,"I managed to say after keeping quiet for so long.
"I assumed she would tell you My Lord. Most times when I would come to wake her, she thought I was you and she would say your name."
My mind flashed back to the countless times she told me that she was exhausted and she felt horrible. By time she continued I already fell asleep. I did not even realize she was telling me she felt sick.
I looked over at her. "Look, she fell asleep," I shifted the topic away from myself. I went over to her, picked her up and carried her back to the bed. It was going to be difficult to tell her now but I need to and she is going to hate me for how I was going to do it.
"Ladonna could you-"
"Of course My Lord. I will be by her side for the entire day."
