We're not broken

We’re not broken…

We’re just a little rough around the edges,

Beautiful all the same, our love is strong.

We aren’t held together by strings.

Our hearts aren’t all that fragile; they won’t shatter so easily,

The scars on them are proof enough.

We’re still breathing, our hands can still touch.

Our lips still mingle as one, and it still feels like the first time.

Words will hurt, they’ll scar, and they’ll rip us apart,

But just look at me and you’ll know.

You’ll know that I’m still here, still standing, still fighting.

Just hold onto my hand….

We aren’t broken after all…

Every fall, every tear, every whispered word,

Hold onto that.

 The stars spell out our names, look closely and you’ll see…

Just close your eyes love and lean into me…

You’ll see that we aren’t broken after all,
