The words mingling in the air we shared.

And I felt myself breaking,

My heart wasn’t quite mine then.

“Come away with me,” you said,

Words that spun dreams in my eyes.

So we ran, feet swift against the cold earth.

“Stay with me,” you touched me,

And I melted against your touch, a beautiful symphony.

“Ours,” we whispered against the setting sun,

This world we had made for ourselves, our hearts and souls as one.

“Yours,” you said quietly as you slipped into the night,

“Mine,” I kissed you for the last time,

Your breath shallow against mine.

“Yours,” you said again,

“Mine,” I promised and watched you slip away…
