15- The abducted co-detective

Leila POV

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag matapos namin malaman kung sino ang gumahasa at pumatay sa isa pa naming vocalist. That man---ugh! I hate him.

I am currently reading my thick book here on my apartment. Matagal na din mula ng nabasa ko ito. Masyado kasing busy, lalo na pagkasama ko si William.

Three knocks caught my attention. It must be Losti.

I quickly opened it as I welcome my big brother with a warm hug.

"Oh! Sweet little sis." He started caressing my hair.

"Go, get ready. Papasok pa tayo." He added.

I nodded.

Matapos akong ihatid ni Losti naupo ako sa upuan ko. Napasulyap ako at nakita kong masama ang tingin ni William sa akin at sa pintuan na pinasukan ko.

"W-What!?" I asked, irritated.

"Why do you let him--- ahh nevermind." Napasabunot siya sa buhok niya.

I rolled my eyes. Napatingin ako sa pinto. Nanlaki ang mata ko.

"Crystal!!"

"Leila! I missed you." she hugged me.

"Same here, bakit ba di ka pumapasok." Hinampas ko siya ng mahina sa braso.

"A-Ah, I was busy last week. Family matters. He-He."

"Oh? I see. Libre mo ako mamaya. Ha?"

"H-Ha?"

Biglang tumikhim si William.
"No need, I'll treat you Lei."

"Yieeee, Lei, your boyfriend will treat you pala, toh' naman magpapalibre pa. Boyfriend mo pala si Detective William." Sabi niya habang sinusundot ako sa tagiliran.

Sinamaan ko ng tingin ang nakangising si William.

"You are thinking of the wrong idea Crystal. He is not my boyfriend. Don't conclude."

"A-Ah pardon hahaha, but you know? Bagay kayo. Yiii~"

"Enough! Crystal."

"Sorry." Halatang nagpipigil pa ng tawa at kilig, psh bahala kayo diyan.

Lumabas muna ako ng classroom. Wala naman si Prof. double M. When my phone suddenly vibrated.

Come here, dear. 5th floor. Tawa ka ni Prof. Double M. Asap!

Huh? Sino to? Anyway, I better go. Kaya siguro wala si Prof.

Nandito na ako sa 5th floor, bakit parang walang tao? Sumagi sa isip ko si Brent. Kamusta na kaya iyon? Ganito kasi yun, mag-isa lang ako. Nanindig tuloy ang mga balahibo ko.

Nagulat ako ng may biglang humila sa akin at tinakpan ang ilong ko.

Seconds after, all I can see is black. Ang bigat ng mga mata ko. I closed it as everything went black.

William POV

Here we goes with the boring topic again. Professor Mark arrived late. I don't know Leila's phone number that's why I came up asking Crystal. I need to call Leila. I don't want her miss this class. I asked her to ditch last time and I don't want her to ditch again.

"A-Ah Crystal?"

"Oh?yes?" She diverted her gaze to me but immediately return from what she were doing.

"May I have the phone nimber of Leila."

She froze for a while. Then,

"Yieesssss, sabi ko na eh. Magkupal talaga kayo.yieee."
Oh. Come on!

"A-Ah ha-ha" sarcastic William. Tss.

Iniabot naman niya sa akin ang paper with Leila's phone number. I uttered thanks as I excused myself.

Losti POV

The subscriber cannot be reached. Please try your call later.

I dialed Leila's number once again. Pero wala. Nasaan ba siya!? I'm worried.

I am currently having my lunch here at the cafeteria. Wala ang professor namin so? Here I am, dialling Leila's number again and again.

Ako lang yata at isang couple ang nandito sa cafeteria at kumakain. Tss. If I know, that couple only wants to see each other's faces rather than attending their classes.

Biglang nakuha ng atensyon ko ang lalaking pumasok sa cafeteria. What is he doing here?

Lumapit ako sa table niya. Siya naman dutdot ng dutdot ng cellphone at napapasabunot sa buhok. I still remember the last time we met. I forgave him, so it's now settled.

"H-Hey dude? Any prob?" I asked.

Bahagya siyang nagulat.

"O-Oh, nothing. I was dialling Leila's phone, but she wasn't answering." He massaged his temples. Sign of frustration,perhaps?

"I was doing the same thing too. Ang also like you, I couldn't reach her phone." I said.

"Seriously? Where is she!?"

"Is she not attending her class?" I asked.

"That's it! She wasn't there."

What!? Where is Leila? Oh geez!

He again dialled Leila's number. Suddenly her eyes widened.

"Who's that?" I asked after he hanged up.

"I don't know but he said, we should check the tree in the middle of this academy."

"H-Huh? Walang puno dito. Kung meron man, nasa gilid yun at hindi sa gitna."

"Oh come on, what should we do?" He asked, frustrated.

"I-check pa rin natin kung may puno nga. Wala namang mawawala."

"Am i going to ditch class again!?" He uttered.

"This is for Leila so better ditch your class."

"Yeah, you are right. Were doing this for her. I'm worried. Anyway, sorry for the last time." He sighed.

"Oh! Bro kalimutan mo na yun. Hurry!"

"Thanks. We are doing this for Leila!"

Ngumiti ako. He really cares for Leila.
