Bittersweet Notions Of Forever
Chapter 20: After Effects
The house was almost silent, the only sound that could be heard was the water running from the faucet in the kitchen. You grabbed onto the door handle and stood still, in your bedroom. He was still home, getting ready to leave for work.
Your head was throbbing, your throat felt dry like the desert and your stomach roared of hunger. You rubbed your stomach and silently groaned. You had a hungover from last night. You wanted to have some cold water from the fridge and a filling breakfast.
You sighed, upon the reminiscence of last night. You were still dressed in your red dress, and you could smell his scent on you. It was still stuck on you and lingered on your body. You inhaled the scent of manly, strong and rough cologne from you and let out an involuntarily groan. He smelled so wonderful.
You had one too many drinks, but you clearly remembered the whole night, or you thought you did. It felt like a vivid picture in your mind. The club, the music, the drinks, you dancing, the glares you got, him and the kiss.
You kissed each other, for the first time. You held onto him, let him kiss you and you kissed him back. It wasn't an innocent peck on the lips like before. It was an intense kiss, an eager kiss, full of passion and something that felt so deep, intense and electrifying. The mere thought about it shook you up.
When you woke up, he was the first thing that came to your mind. You remembered how he came running out to you, when you left the club. Soo Hyuk possibly saved you from a dangerous person in the dark street. You remembered how he brought you back home safely, he tugged you to bed. You were tipsy, but you remembered it.
Now, you were too embarrassed to face him, you didn't know what to do, when you see him. You knew how you would react, mostly likely you will get nervous and your heart will race uncontrollably. You waited for him to leave the house, so you finally could come out of this big and empty bedroom.
Soo Hyuk got dressed for work, he was feeling fine as he hadn't had too many drinks last night compared to you. He stood in the kitchen, he drank some cold water, he rubbed his lips after drinking and he placed the glass down on the counter.
He looked down on his Cartier watch on his wrist. It was past ten am. You were still not up, he thought as he hadn't seen you come out of the room. He wondered whether you had a bad hungover.
He bit on his bottom lip a bit hard, and sighed. He couldn't sleep well last night, because the image of you kissing each other, so eagerly haunted him in his dreams. He needed to take a cold shower before sleeping to calm his body down. He felt hot, his body temperature rose rapidly last night, unlike before.
You made it worse for him, by pulling him down to you on the bed. He had already told himself to not touch you, when he was drunk and when you were drunk.
He groaned, because he wanted to go and check up on you, but he refrained from doing that. Because he knew what kind of thoughts he had in his mind. He couldn't watch you sleeping. It was already hard for him to walk out on you last night, but he did the right thing.
He would never touch you without you wanting it. But he saw himself and felt how he got carried away at the club. He felt drawn and compelled to you. Soo Hyuk stared out as his mind drifted away. He shook his head, when he realized that he zoned out.
Soo Hyuk rubbed his temples and let out another deep groan. He hurried off for work. You froze, when you heard him walk out.
You slowly and carefully tiptoed out into the long corridor that led to the open kitchen and living room. You looked around you to find him, your husband. He was nowhere to be seen. You let out a sigh of relief.
