Bittersweet Notions Of Forever

Chapter 72: Insomnia

The hallway was dimmed, making you wonder why he hadn't turned on the light in the house yet. Had he already gone to bed? Maybe he had, because he had worked a lot today.

You wanted to hand him the jacket that you had bought for him, and just get it over with. You sighed deeply and mouthed a cuss.

However, you jolted of surprise, when the tall and dark silhouette appeared in front of you. You hadn't even heard him walk into the place.

The place was dark, but the little light from the night outside slipped into the house, illuminating his strong features and presence. Your eyes naturally wandered to him and you felt a suddenly chill coat your body.

You were surprised to discover that he had changed his suit out with casual clothes, so quickly. He wore black jeans and a grey oversized t-shirt, that still hugged his lean figure. Simple clothing did him too well.

His tall and dark posture was right in front of you, and you could feel his dark, sharp, and piercing gaze on you. A cold shudder passed down your spine, and you tightened your grip on the bag with his gift.

You could see how his eyes slightly narrowed by a millimeter, and he eyed the bags in your hands. He gazed at the bag from Boon the shop.

Before handing the present to him, there was something you needed to ask and confirm. Something that didn't feel right to you.

"Why did you ignore me?" You asked.

The room was filled with a silence that made your body become tense as his dark eyes bore in yours.

You got a sudden déjà vu. You felt like you were taken back to the day, where you had been out with your friends, and he had been waiting for you at home.

You didn't know why you got that flashback, maybe because he was standing in the dark hall, again, and looking at you with the same kind of gaze, which he had back then. Those eyes never changed. You breathed deeply.

"I'm sorry, you felt that way, sweetheart. I wasn't ignoring you." He said in his incredibly deep tone that was somehow deeper than a cave now.

You furrowed your brows. You had figured that it wasn't because of you, but he still ignored you, and Wonho.

He opened his mouth to speak, but you interrupted him quickly, "It's because of your brother?"

You noticed how he clenched his jaw, and then he quickly looked the other way, into the darkness of the hall, and you couldn't see his expression properly now.

"It doesn't matter.. either way, I wasn't ignoring you." He said.

"Either way, it wasn't okay for you to give us the cold shoulder, Hyuk Soo." You said in a clear tone.

You weren't mad, you just needed to state this, because you hadn't exactly done anything wrong to deserve his cold shoulder.

"I'm sorry." He repeated, and you bit onto your bottom lip.

Suddenly, he began to move towards you. Soo Hyuk was already in front of you in the blink of an eye.

In three long strides, he stopped in front of you, so close, his strong scent lingered around you, and his presence was overwhelming.

You stood steadfast, even when you felt your knees turn weak, when his hard chest pressed against your body. You could feel his solid chest.

"What's that?" His deep tone broke out, breaking the silence in the room. His eyes were on the bag in your hand.
