Bittersweet Notions Of Forever
Chapter 21: The Lee's Mansion
Your heart was racing because of the nervousness that was building up inside you. You took a deep breath as you stood outside the brown wooden grand doors of the Lee family's mansion that looked like a palace. Or to be exact a wonderland.
The entire property was like a fairytale, with its maze and three- floor- mansion, and there were multiple windows on the house and balcony's. The long poles on the sides at the entrance were marvelous. The house was more of a palace than a mansion.
It took you a while getting out to the place, as the mansion was a bit far from the city. You paced back and forth on the porch for a while and you felt quite nervous.
Your breathing was unsteady and your heart pounded in your chest. You were needlessly getting nervous. You knew that as you had met and been with his parent's multiple times before.
Soo Hyuk's parents had invited you over for dinner and you came to your in-law's house without your husband. You were there without him.
Soo Hyuk was still at work. He was caught up with some stuff and he would come later. You mentally cussed at yourself. You gathered your courage and finally rang on the bell. You took a deep breath and waited for someone to answer.
The old house worker, looked at the security camera. She saw you through the screen, and opened the door for you. You took a deep breath and entered the house.
You looked around the grand hall and up at the golden chandelier that shone down on you and enhanced the room. For a second, you just gasped. It was really like a palace. You liked coming here, because this house was so interesting in so many ways and you had yet to see the whole mansion. You were always mesmerized by this house.
Soo Hyuk's mother came walking down to you. You looked out and quickly gathered yourself. You walked up to her, to greet her. Mrs. Lee was smiling from brightly from ear to ear, upon seeing you.
The fine lines at the ends of her eyes curved as she smiled. She always seemed so happily, when she saw you and it warmed your heart. You hadn't seen his parents for a while. You had actually missed Mrs. Lee.
She hurried up to you and called you for her daughter in a bright voice that echoed in the grand hall. You smiled, when she pulled you in for a tight and warm hug. You giggled and wrapped your arms around her small figure, and hugged her back. She let out a sweet and warm laugh, when you hugged her back with the same kind of warmth.
You looked out and met Soo Hyuk's father, Mr. Lee's gaze. He appeared in front of you. He had a smile on his face as he walked up to you. You pulled away from your mother in law and he too greeted you with a warm hug.
They asked you how you were and you gave them the flowers, which you bought to Mrs. Lee. She awed as she looked at the beautiful bouquet.
"They are beautiful. I love them. Thank you my dear. You shouldn't have." She said and her eyes still beamed at the flowers in her hands.
She was clearly happy to receive them. She quickly told you that she loved them and that you shouldn't have bought them for her. However, you smiled as you shook your head.
"I wanted to." You said and her smile grew wider and she hugged you once more.
Mrs. Lee's eyes glanced down your dress and she noticed your white lace dress with flowery embroidery. And she awed at you. You looked like a beautiful princess to her.
