Bittersweet Notions Of Forever
Chapter 97
The Past: The Noodle Heads From High School
As soon as the class was over, the students rushed out of the classrooms, and the halls were quickly filled with sounds, laughter's, talks, and noises.
Your friend Soo Ah grabbed onto your arm as you walked out of the room, and her eyes lit up. It was time for lunch, the perfect time during school.
"What do you want to eat? spicy rice cakes? Or noodles in black bean sauce?" She asked, and you giggled at her excitement.
"Let's go for spicy rice cakes." You beamed, and clung onto her arm, pulling her closer to you, and she giggled.
"I am already starving. Mrs. Kim's lessons are always so long and boring." She sighed, rolling her eyes, and you nodded.
"I just hate math." You groaned, and she nodded in agreement.
"The hardest class ever." She dragged out the final word, making you laugh.
"And I just can't stand that she gives so many assignments one after another." You groaned.
"Tell me about it." She sighed deeply.
It was your last year of high school. You were finally a senior. It was a happy and yet sentimental time in your life, as you had to close a chapter soon, and basically enter the adult world.
You were excited for college life, but you would also miss high school, and your friends. Most of you had chosen different directions, including Soo Ah. She wanted to be a stylist, and you were going to major in arts and design.
That meant that you most likely would not get to hang out with Soo Ah as much as you could now, but that is how life is. You huffed aloud, making Soo Ah widen her eyes and look at you with a curious gaze.
"What's wrong now?" She asked as the both of you walked down the yard out of the school, to the town and to buy lunch.
"I'm just going to miss this, you know, being young, a teenager." You said in a soft tone as your eyes flickered to the ground.
"I get it, but it will turn out good. Imagine being in your twenties, getting to drink, party." She chuckled, and you glanced her way, when she gently nudged your arm.
"You are so silly."
You laughed at her big grin, she always made you ease up. She had that will and aura to make people around her calm down.
She dragged you along to the town to buy food, and you felt quite good in her company. It was afternoon and you had two classes left.
After your lunch, you were headed to your class, which was in the other building so you had to get to the other side, as your school had two buildings, and your English class was about to start in a few minutes. You hurried off. Lunch time with Soo Ah went by fast and you had not kept an eye on time.
You clutched onto your books and notes, close to your chest. You had your backpack on, which was quite heavy because of all those books you carried.
As you got closer to the hall where your classroom was, you could hear distinct voices. You knew whose voices that were. The popular group of the school. They stood in front of the stairways and gossiped.
It was hard not to ignore it, and you intentionally began to walk slower, although your class was about to start in a few minutes.
You wanted to get in a close range to hear what they were talking about. One of the girls sighed aloud and you recognized that voice.
