Bittersweet Notions Of Forever
Chapter 55: Fragments Of Different Emotions
Ha Neul sat from across you, and he played with his pen, tapping it on the desk. The clicking sound echoed in the room, and you eyed him for a quick moment.
But his gaze was lowered on some documents which he was reading intently. He hadn't said much since you walked in. You figured he was busy with his work, hence you left him alone.
His hair seemed to have grown more, and it went down his neck. It was parted. It did suit him, but you still had to get used to seeing him with long hair. His short hair gave him a manly look. But his long hair made him look softer.
You sat in your father's office, and on his dear leather chair. As a kid you used to love to sit on his chair. You waited for your father to finish a meeting.
Your father had left you a message, and asked you to come by the office. He wanted to have a look on your project, and see the plan.
It was lunch time, and your stomach tied in knots of hunger, and the silence in the room broke by the sound of your roaring stomach.
Instantly, Ha Neul stopped tapping his pen on the desk, and his eyes flickered towards you, and a small grin formed on his face.
Your cheeks heated up, and you flashed him an awkward smile. He narrowed his eyes, and grinned further.
"Have you had lunch?"
"As you heard, I clearly haven't. I'm starving." Your tone went down of sadness, and it made Ha Neul laugh.
"Don't make fun of me." You groaned.
He chuckled, and shook his head. "Let's have lunch together. I rarely see you."
His last words made you purse your lips into a thin line, and your lips curved down. A sad look took over your face, and Ha Neul shrugged.
You felt bad. Although he was your bodyguard, and your father's secretary, he was also your friend. You hadn't hung out with him a while, and it didn't feel right.
"Let's get lunch together." You announced, and he nodded with a smile.
Then he stretched his arms, and a deep and long yawn escaped from him. You shook your head at him. He grinned coyly back, and averted his attention to his papers.
"What are you reading anyways, you are so focused on it." You pursed your lips into a small pout as you looked into his eyes.
Ha Neul smiled. "I'm planning your father's schedule, and meetings."
You furrowed your brows, and examined his face. He had dark circles, and seemed sleep derived. His hair also seemed a bit messy, and he yawned once more, and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Ha Neul-ah?" You broke out.
He hummed back, his eyes were still glued on the papers. He continued writing down something, you didn't know what, and his eyes flickered at the papers on the desk.
"Why don't you hand out some of your assignments to the other secretary." You said silently.
You knew he liked both his jobs, but it was really taking a toll on him, as you could tell. And he's young, too young to be worn out already from this industry.
Your shoulders sank, and your expression downed as well, and worriedness filled your eyes. Ha Neul stiffened, and shrugged.
"It's not that easy." He said in a low tone.
