Who's afraid of Michael Myers?

Well the next few days were pretty uneventful. Hoodie never left Masky's side for a week. It was beginning to become winter so that meant that Halloween was coming up. My favorite holiday.

Jenn came in the living room with a newspaper in her hand. She looked like she was about to explode. When I saw the headline I nearly spazzed out on the ground.

SERIAL KILLER MICHAEL MYERS BLAMED FOR THE DEATHS OF THREE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

"Oh. My. God." Ben nearly jumped into the ceiling. (now that I would like to see)

"Yeah and guess where they were murdered." Jenn smiled as she hid the paper behind her back.

"Narnia?" Toby guessed. Without looking at his face you'd have thought he was being sarcastic but by the looks of it, it was a legitimate guess.

"Nope. Here. It was in their own houses. And guess what holiday is just around the corner?" Jenn leaned forward with her crooked grin.

"Halloween!" I pumped my fist up in the air.

"What does that mean?" Masky asked.

"It's hard to explain. But there is a simpler way to show it," I then ran to a cabinet that Jenn told me held all the horror movies they had, "Aha! All seven of them." I took out all the Halloween movies (except for number three of course because that barely has Michael in it.)

"Woo hoo! Movie watching party!" Ben danced around like a leprechaun. About a day later, we'd watched all of them. Jenn said her favorite had always been Halloween 8, mine was Halloween 6, Ben's was Halloween 5, Toby pretty much liked all of them, Masky's was Halloween 8, and Hoodie's was Halloween 4. All that talk about Michael Myers got me all jittery and super hyped up. Until three days later.

It was Halloween, we were at school in third period. The school had fallen into that kind of lull before the storm. It made me even more jittery than before. Fourth period came and as I was walking down to Mr. Olivar's room an announcement came on the intercom.

"Students and Staff this is a code red. This is not a drill I repeat this is n-" The principal was cut of and then all you could here was creepy breathing that made my skin crawl. Jenn, Toby, Masky, and Hoodie all came running from different directions. Ben came running down the stairs.

"Guys! Guys! You'll never guess who I just saw murder the principal!" Ben wheezed.

"Who?" I asked.

"Michael Myers!!!"

Just as Ben shouted that out the very man himself came ambling down the stairs. Kids scattered and ran down the hall. But we stayed. Michael stood there staring at us and we stood there staring at him. His gaze seemed to lock on to Toby, who immediately hid behind Jenn. Jenn leveled her stare with Michael's, then she cracked a smile.

"SCATTER!" Without waiting we split up. Hoodie and Masky went down the hallway leading to the gym, Jenn and Toby went down the hallway leading to the exit, and Ben and I ran straight down the hallway. And guess who decided to follow us. Yep Michael chose to follow us out of everybody that had been running in different directions. I wished I had my knife, but Jenn wouldn't let me bring it. But I had a feeling she was keeping a whole arsenal in her backpack. Yep, logic.

"Of course he follows us out of everybody!" Ben frowned.

"I blame security for not protecting us!" I chuckled.

"Dude not even security could stop that guy." Ben ran into an empty classroom. I followed. We both slammed shut the door and quickly put desks and chairs in front of it, "That has to give us a couple extra seconds to break a window or something."

I glanced out the window. Somehow we'd gotten all the way to the fifth floor, "We're gonna have to do the 'or something' part. Cause we're on the fifth floor." Ben ran to my side and gulped.

"We're trapped."

Masky:

"Who did he decide to follow?" Hoodie looked back at me as we ran.

"I don't know! He's not following us!" I more or less stumbled along as Hoodie dragged me but that constitutes as running right?

A figure up ahead made us skid to a halt. It was Jay. He wasn't facing us and he had a cast on one arm. He was facing off to the side down another hallway.

"I had plenty of chances to do this, Jay!" Alex's voice made me shrink back. I went around to the hallway Alex was in. I hid behind a trashcan and took a breath. Alex definitely had a gun. I didn't like guns. I took off the band that concealed our appearance. Taking one more deep breath I crept out from behind the trashcan. Alex was still facing away yelling at Jay for some reason or another. Whatever reason I didn't think it warranted Jay's death. Sure I really didn't like either of them but if I'd have to choose I'd pick the lesser of the two evils. Alex was so busy preparing to shoot he didn't even her me coming up from behind. I grabbed the arm that held the gun and jerked it off to the side just as the gun went off. The bullet ricochet off of the wall and down the hall.

"RUN!" I yelled and Jay. He took no hesitation in sprinting down the way we just came, "Get out of here while you still can..."

Crook:

Toby and I ran, even though no one was chasing us. We had find an exit.

"Do you know where the others are?" Toby asked me as we paused for breath.

"No. I don't know who Michael went after. All I know is that it wasn't us." I wheezed. Running was hard. Stairs certainly didn't help, "I also know I hate stairs." Toby laughed. Then we began running again. We made it to about the fifth floor before we stopped again. This time we stopped because of somebody. Happy Mask Salesman. I frowned and I felt Toby tense up next to me. I looked around for a weapon, but all I could find was a spoon. Might as well have something.

"I've been expecting you." Happy smiled. It sent shivers down my spine but I pushed them down and smirked.

"That's what everybody says. Why are you here?"

"Straight to the point now are we?" Happy took out that small sheet of paper I'd seen when Masky and I switched for a few seconds. I frowned.

"Don't even try. I've already done it." I glanced at Toby and the question flashed between us. He nodded and I smiled. I held on to Toby as we used the teleport ability that Toby'd taught me. We materialized outside, "Was that awesome or what?"

"Yeah!" Toby and I high-fived. But then stopped when realized that there was about twenty Black Eyed Kids staring right at us.

And now back to Jeff.

Ben and I huddled in the corner hoping, no more like praying, that our barricades would hold. The door shuddered as Michael pounded against it. I thanked my lucky knives that this door was metal. Then the pounding stopped. I took the chance of glancing out the window. Jenn and Toby were surrounded by a circle of black eyed kids.

"Ben we've got to get out of here!" I started pulling away desks and chairs.

"Are you crazy?!? Michael could still be out there!!" Ben's eyes were wide with fear and shock. A paper slipped through the door.

he's the new target. TO the Barbarians inside Your head. -jane.

"Who's the new target? And why are some of the letters capital?" I looked around for a pencil and piece of paper, "Maybe if we put all the capitals together......oh."

"What?" Ben snatched the paper away. He paled when he read what I wrote, "This means......"

"We need to warn Toby."
