Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey! I'm thinking about ending this book in about ten or more chapters. This book has gone a lot farther than I thought it would! But anyway you probably want to read now so BYE!!!

Crook paced the balconey room.

"Get it together." She mumbled, "Control it. Don't feel. Don't feel. DON'T FEEL!" Her voice echoed in the halls, "What have I done?" Crook sank to the floor and leaned against a wall. The gold began to take on a redish tint, "What have I done?"

Meanwhile Jeff, Ben, Toby, and Masky were arriving at a cabin. It was odd to see a building among the seemingly infinent rows of corn.

"Well here it is!" Toby ran ahead and stood on the porch. The cabin was made completely out of wood and appeared to be just one small room. It had no windows. The roof looked like it was about to cave in. Jeff did not really want to go inside. Masky backed away from it.

"No. Not here. This is where...." He trailed off.

"It's okay. Alex is dead now, Crook made sure of THAT." Ben hugged Masky around the waist.

"Ben has a point. Last time we saw him he had about a million holes in his chest." Toby smiled in a way that made him look drunk.

"Who's there?!" A voice called out from inside the cabin.

"Toby, and a few others." Toby called back. Some shutters that Jeff hadn't noticed earlier opened and Firebrand leaned out.

"Phew I thought that you guys were Black Eyed Kids for a second."

"Firebrand get back in here!" Observer appeared at the window, "Oh. Hi." Then he turned and went back in. Jeff couldn't help but notice the bloodstained bandage around his left shoulder.

"Don't worry about him, " Firebrand glanced back into the cabin, "He wants to be out fighting instead of hiding. To be honest, I would rather be out there too. Wait there I'm coming out."

"I'm not even sure we should even be here. At the cabin." Masky hugged himself and shuddered. Firebrand opened the door a sliver, then peeked out.

"All clear?"

"We wouldn't be out here if it wasn't 'all clear'." Ben sat cross-legged on a bench in front of the cabin.

"Okay." Firebrand shrugged. He came out and sat down next to Ben. He had a slight limp as he walked but other than that there were no other visible injuries, "So what brings you back here?"

"Well you know the fire?" Toby pointed at the smoke in the distance. Firebrand nodded, "They went to find the 'cause' of it so then she could stop it but she didn't know that she'd started it in the first place so then she freaked out and there was this big poof of fire and some of it hit Jeff and we're pretty sure that you guys can help." He said all of that in one breath.

"She? This was caused by somebody?" Observer appeared in the doorway, scaring everybody half to death.

"Yeah." Jeff thought back to the look on Crook's face when he'd told her that she'd started the fire.

"Somebody you know?" Observer sat down on the edge of the porch.

"Someone we all know." Masky looked off into the horizon, where you could see the top of Crook's palace.

"Oh. Well then, that must make it really hard. Who is it?" Firebrand asked.

"I don't think you guys know her." Toby scratched the top of his head, "You know the girl that Jane's been trying so hard to kill?"

"Yeah, Crook's her name right?" Observer nodded.

"Well, turns out she had fire powers and she freaked out when they were revealed and ran off, inadvertently setting the forest on fire. So we went after her" Ben began pacing around, "She'd built this huge caslte kinda like in Frozen but made of this gold stuff. So Jeff tried to talk her into coming home and it turned out she didn't KNOW that she'd set half the forest on fire. Anyway she freaked out again and ended up accidently hitting Jeff in the chest with wierd fire stuff."

"Wow." Firebrand and Observer said at the same time.

"Toby thought you guys could help." Jeff sighed. He couldn't even imagine what Crook was going through. Suddenly it was like all the heat was being pulled away from his body. Jeff shivered violently and fell over. Masky caught him.

"He's ice cold." He bit his lip in worry.

"Hold on," Observer got up and jogged over, "I'll see what I can do." He felt along Jeff's right arm. His face paled and let Jeff's arm drop, "I-I can't do anything. The fire that hit his chest buried itself in his heart. I can't remove it, but maybe someone else can."

"What happens if it isn't removed?" Ben asked fearfully.

"I don't know."

The black eyes kids frowned when they saw the huge castle in front of them. Clockwork turned to her small group.

"We're here to find the others, but no harm is to come to them." The black eyed kids nodded in approval. All except two. They'd secretly taken crossbows with them.

Just then the fire elemental was upon them. It roared and swiped at the black eyed kids. The two rouges took the opportunity to get into the palace. The saw Crook run up the second set of staircases.

"Up there!" One yelled. They ran after her. They cornered her in the balcony room. One of the rouges raised their crossbows and aimed at her head.

"No. Please." Crook pushed her hands out in front of her. The rouge that hand their crossbow raised closed their eyes,

And fired.
