This particular chapter is going to be in the point of view of BEN.
"No, it isn't possible!" I thought. But there was no denying it, he's here. And to make it worse he's with Jane! I hid behind Crook, I had made a habit of hiding behind her. The Happy Mask man giggled and I squeezed my eyes shut tight. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to Jeff. They were protecting me? I dared take another look at Happy Mask. Two men stepped out behind him. Both Crook and Jeff gasped and I looked around, clearly confused. The one on the right had blonde hair, blue eyes, pale tan skin, a green t-shirt, faded jeans that were ripped at the knees, and a knife. The one on the left had brown hair, green eyes, tan skin, a white t-shirt, jeans that looked fairly new, and he also had a knife.
"Liu?" Jeff asked while backing away.
"Matt?" Crook leaned forward. Matt, now where had I heard that name before? I thought about it for a while. I looked at the one on the left again. Then, it hit me.
"You know this guy?" I asked pointing to the left one, "Well that's just great. Cause I know him too." Matt seemed confused for a moment but then recognition set in.
"You! I destroyed you!" I pointed at me and despite the predicament, I giggled.
"No ya didn't. You destroyed one of your own games. I heard what you were doing and I conjured up enough strength for me to go through. So, I removed Majora, took another game, scratched of the title, and wrote Majora on it." I explained. Matt's face contorted with anger.
Now during this time Liu and Jeff had been arguing and Crook just kinda stood there, glaring at Happy Mask and Jane as well as Matt. I continued to hide behind Crook. Liu suddenly attacked Jeff and Crook shot off to help him. Which left me with the three people I most hate and fear on the entire universe. I backed away and they continued forward. Crook noticed this, motioned to Jeff, then took my hand and dashed back into the woods. Jeff was close behind. But bringing up the rear was Liu, Jane, and Happy Mask. Yay. Crook ducked into a ditch under a log.
" We need to split up in order to get them to split up. And we need help." Jeff whispered.
" I'm game." I whispered. And Crook nodded.
" We're all in this then. Crook, run to the edge of the cornfield but don't go in it. Ben, I need you to run to the southern edge of the forest. I'll go back to the mansion and get the others." As Jeff laid out the plan, I had a wierd feeling that was the direction the lake was. Just thinking about it made my stomach turn into a hard ball of ice. I tried to think about it as least as possible. But I nodded in agreement. Crook had this misty look in her eyes, " We can do this." Jeff said. I almost didn't hear him mutter under his breath, " I hope."
Without another word Jeff and Crook ran in the specified directions. I took a deep breath and ran off. The leaves and branches crunched and snapped under my feet. As I ran deeper into the forest, it began to rain.
"Just my luck, I get caught in a rainstorm running from my enemies." I slowed to a jog, then I walked, then I stopped. My side cramped and my legs felt like a lead ball had been attached to them. I felt the veins in my face pounding like drums. The rain dripped off the branches and cascaded onto my face, cooling the heat that attached to it. I slumped down next to a tree, " How much longer do I have to do this?" I wondered aloud. I hoped jeff had gotten to the mansion by now. Slender knew these woods like the back of his hand.
" If you come with me, you won't have to run anymore." Happy Mask said as a blade came around the tree and against my throat.
"NO!" I thought. I had been too reckless and had let my guard down. Happy Mask came around the tree and I tried my best to hide the complete terror in my face. I had now idea what was going to happen next. Happy could either kill me on the spot, which I know he would LOVE to do or he could give me to Jane and use me as a bribe to get Jeff. I was kinda hoping the second one. I really didn't want to die.
" Did you miss me Ben?" He spat. I would've said no, but I decided that I should keep my big mouth shut, " Did you think I would forget about your promise?"
"I've made plenty of promises." I shrugged.
"How many of those have you fulfilled?"
"One out of three." I knew this wasn't the best thing to do but if I could stall him, maybe Jeff or Crook will come by and save me, " What do want with me? Kill me? Give me to Jane?" My face got hotter and hotter as I went over what I had just thought over a few seconds ago. Saying it out loud just made it seem even more horrible.
" No, something even worse." Happy snickered and I snorted.
"What could be worse then this?"
" I'm going to make you watch Jeff die and it's going to be all you fault." He hissed in my ear. The blade was gone and so was Happy. I fell to my hands and knees as hot tears ran down my cheeks and mingled withthe raindrops.
" Get up and go to the southern edge! Crying isn't going to help anything!" The tiny voice that helped me when I didn'tknow what to do said. I wiped my tears and ran full sprint ignoring the pain in my side. Soon I burst out at the clearing. At the same time, Crook also appeared. She was on the otherside and was breathing hard. I tried to block out what I didn't want to see as I ran around to meet her. The lake. It was the place where I got how I got today. This place stank with sadness and memories of things I wish not to remember. Crooks gaze was on a tiny white cross surrounded by weeds. The paint was peeling and there was writing obscured by the plants. I felt a pang as she walked over to it and brushed aside the weeds to read what was written.
R.I.P
Ben.
Crook looked at me. Then she came over to me and pulled me close in a hug.
" I'm sorry Ben." She whispered. The hair on the back of my neck prickeled and Crook's face (if possible) got whiter. I turned around and saw Jane. She smirked and walked forward, " Run to the right I'll run to the left." Then she bolted twoard the right. In a panic I went that way too. Then realised my mistake and skidded to a halt. I was pushed out of the way as Jane ran by. I stumbled backwords and fell. I paniced even more as my hands felt nothing but air.
" Oh g-" I hit the murky water before I could finish.
I distictly remember someone yelling my name before I fainted.
"BEN!"
