I Believe

I walked down the path with the others. There were no words spoken between us, because this was a solemn event there never needed to be. Masky carried Toby. I remembered the first time Toby came to the mansion.

We'd heard about the neighborhood setting on fire after some guys murder. The only thing that we really could've done was sit and watch the TV, because no one's allowed to leave the house when Slender is gone. The door opened and Slender stepped through. He's been carrying a boy. The boy had messy brown hair that went every which way, pale almost grey skin, and clutched in his arms were two hatchets. Slender set him down on the couch. The boy twitched a lot. That was the first time I'd met him. And the last time I'd seen him, he and Jenn were going to find Alex. And now look where we were. I don't blame Toby for getting himself killed, but I can't just help but feel a little angry. Slender says that's just part of the steps of grief.

I couldn't help but wonder what Jenn must've been feeling. She was there. And I have a feeling that even though she didn't yell it out loud like Masky had when Jay died, she blamed herself for Toby's death. She refused to come. I worried about her.

The forest was silent except for the pitter patter of rain as it hit the leaves and dropped down to the ground. I glanced at Masky again. For the past two days he'd been curled up in his room. Not speaking to anybody, not letting anyone in, and  just keeping to himself. I hoped that he'd be all right.

I hoped we'd all be all right.

"I really hope that Jenn doesn't go after Alex....." I thought as I looked back. Ben said she was going down to the basement before we'd left. It was just a little concerning, "Although I hope she makes him fear her. Everyone should." Jenn definitely could give off that 'don't mess with me' aura.

"Jeff, you okay?" Ben picked up a flower, twirling it around.

"Yeah." I lied. Really I felt like I was dying inside. I haven't felt like thins since those cops carted Liu away to jail for something that I did. I'd kill those punks again if I could, "You?"

"I don't know. You know, if I could get a crack at, " Ben stopped, glanced at Masky, then continued, " You Know Who, I bet I could get some information."

"Crook will get to him first. I'll bet she's drilling him right now." Hoodie looked back at us.

"Your right. You think she'll write down any information she gets?" I wondered looking up at the sky.

"Maybe. With her you never know." Ben shrugged. Then silence again. It lasted until suddenly Hoodie, who was at the front, stopped.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Get in the bushes. Now." Hoodie steered Masky into a group of bushes. The rest of us joined him.

"What's going on?" I asked again.

"Hikers."

"Great." I grumbled. Just what we needed. Hikers. All it would take is one glimpse of something that was suspicious and the police would be crawling all over this place. Sooner or later they'd find the grave we'd set aside, "I'll get rid of them."

"No! The police are only looking for you in Fairview. We don't want them to expand their search and find the mansion. If they do that it's all over. It's the end of us." Hoodie grabbed my shirt and dragged me backwords.

"What do you mean the 'end of us?'" I stared at him with a confused look.

"Have you ever wondered why we don't age? Why we can slip under the radar of regular people? Because we're different than them. We're different than the other killers out there. We exist only because we came to that mansion. Only because we ran into the woods that connect these towns. It's these woods that keep us safe. We have to keep the woods the place people area afraid to go in."

"Who's there?" A man's voice shouted.

"I think he heard you." Ben bit his lip.

"Ben, pixalate back to the house." Masky snapped his head up. I jumped at the sound of his voice.

"Okay." Then he disappeared.

"We have to go." Hoodie tugged at his sleeve. Masky looked down at Toby in his arms and shook his head.

"I know what that means, I'm NOT leaving him."

"Masky, we have to." I felt like I was going to cry. I didn't want to leave Toby here either but if we did there was ten times the chance we'd get caught.

"NO!" He flinched away from us. Hoodie walked around behind Masky and hit side of his neck. Hoodie caught him as he fell down. He picked up Toby and made it look as if it had just happened before the hikers got here. Then Hoodie picked up Masky and motioned for us to follow him. As we ran I heard the hikers shouting. They'd found Toby. If we'd been there for five more seconds we'd been caught. I wished that Slender had been there with us, but there were some major problems at the mansion so he had to stay there.

"I'm sorry Toby, I'm so sorry."

Yeah. I hate myself for this idea but don't worry. It's all part of a plan. Okay maybe not but you must have faith in me! I'm going through lots of stuff right now. (Puberty, getting glasses, etc.) But I won't get into it. I hope you guys can forgive me for my Moffatness. Oh yeah some shameless not-so-self promotion right here. Me and AllTehFandoms have been writing a Marble Hornets fan fiction with a happy (kinda sorta) ending to Entry 80/83. It's a little more positive than this story right now. Just don't hate me so much that you stop reading this. Please?

Peace, Love, and Hating Alex Kralie with a burning passion,

Soph.
