Breckenridge School For Juvenile Delinquents was a tough place. If you went there, you needed to know the basics.
1: No Talking In Class.
2: No Food or Drinks
3: No Weapons.
4: No Hitting Others
The kids also added a few of their own.
1: You must keep an eye on your locker at all times or you will get butterflied.
2: Keep a paper clip with you at all times, you might need to pick your way out of your locker.
3: Do whatever you can do avoid the 'trouble' kids. There's a list in the boy's and girl's locker rooms.
4: Don't mess with Jennifer Daniels.
5: Never go alone.
6: When you see the principal, act like an angel.
Those are the rules of Breckenridge School For Juvenile Delinquents the basics and the added. And those are the rules Crook told Toby, Jeff, Masky, Hoodie, and Ben on the first day of school. Each had on the bracelets that changed their appearance to look normal.
"I hate this place already. It radiates, happy." Jeff jerked his head towards the teachers, who wore plastic smiles and really overpriced clothes.
"Don't worry. Once your inside it's a different story." Crook smiled at him.
"The teachers look scary." Ben leaned away from them, "And I'm in what grade?"
"Your in eighth. Your smart, just short. The rest of us are freshman in high school. They go sixth through twelfth here." Masky shrugged.
"Yep. But don't let your guard down. Ever." Crook gave everybody that 'this may or may not save your life' look.
"Okay. Being with those teachers that may not be a problem." Ben pointed to the teachers.
When the bell rang, kids swarmed at the entrance. Crook's group hung back until a majoraty of them had gone inside. They had gotten their schedules beforehand so they knew where to go. Crook and Masky had first period. Then they both go to second period and are joined by Toby. Third period it stays the same. Then for fourth and fifth period they are joined by Jeff and Hoodie. For sixth and seventh they all go to gym (sixth) and art (seventh) .
The reaction to Crook (at the time being Jennifer.) coming back was estatic. Everybody wanted to know where she'd gone for two years.
"I was with a relative." She shrugged.
"For two years? Jenny how did you survive?" One of her old friends, Ivy, shook her head.
"I have absolutely no idea. Wow, I've been saying that a lot lately." Jennifer glanced at Masky (who was going by the name Tim by the way.) who mouthed 'who are these people?' Jennifer mouthed back 'old friends.'
Masky decided he wouldn't ever be part of that. The teacher didn't even try to get the students to learn or listen. It was odd being in a classroom again. It gave him an odd sense of insecurity. Jennifer walked over to Masky, her little group followed her. She waved them off so that she could talk to him alone. Believe it or not they went off to where they were before.
"Hey you doing okay?" Jennifer sat in the seat next to him.
"Y-yeah. I never thought I'd find myself in a place like this when Sl- I mean your Aunt Diane mentioned it." In case your wondering why Masky corrected himself when he was about to say Slender is because they were worried people might overhear them. And that would be bad, "I just hope I survive this."
"Yeah, me too. I forgot the drama in all this. Why did I like it here?" Jennifer put a hand on his shoulder, "But you can handle a couple a girls right?"
"I hope so." Masky breathed.
The teacher finally got the kids to calm down enough to introduce herself. Her name was Mrs. Reed. She had long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and was really tall and skinny. Mrs. Reed was very young to be a teacher. Only about 22 or 23. The classroom looked like it was a kindergarten classroom, not a high school freshmen classroom.
"Well I hope you all had a WONDERFUL summer break!" Mrs. Reeds voice was high pitched and it sounded like she had her nose clogged up, "But welcome to Differentiated Math class!"
"Differentiated?" Masky wondered.
"This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!!!" The teacher clapped her hands together in that way that people do when they're talking.
The rest of the day got much weirder after that. The Social Studies teacher was named, Mrs. King. A couple kids asked if she was wife of Steven King, to this she answered no. The Science teacher was Mr. Olivar. He was pretty funny and had lots of stories to tell. For Language arts they stayed in the same room. Jennifer was sitting at the assigned seat she had gotten when she heard the voice she hadn't heard in two years and was thankful for it.
"She's back! Greg! Adam! Look she's back!" Mitch shouted. She just had to ignor them for a couple more minutes before she went to gym.
"Wow Mitch you're right! She's back! And you know what? Her hair is black!" Greg's voice was that of a kid who just got what he wanted for Christmas.
"Well maybe she dyed it. She's done it before." Adam was always the one with a plan on hand. Before she left Fremont, Jennifer had watched them as they heard about her family's horrific murder and her 'kidnapping'. The idiots thought they'd done it! So that's when she left. That was the start of her new life.
"Good God do you idiots ever shut up?" Somebody else said for her. Jennifer looked over and saw that it was another one of her old friends, Kimi. She shot Kimi a thankful look.
Well the rest of the day went pretty well. After school everybody met up at the east and north corner outside the building.
"Oh my gosh I didn't think I'd survive! Do we have to do this everyday?" Ben sighed. His day had been pretty much scary teachers and and even scarier kids. It had been exausting.
"So how are we getting home?" Toby asked.
"Same way we go here. Walking." Crook answered. They started walking down the street in the direction of the house.
