Back in town, Jane was pacing back and forth in a large room that used to be her dining room.

" Crook I'll get you for this. This isn't your fight." She muttered. There was a knock at the door, " Enter!" She barked.

"Everyone wants to know what you want to do next." Happy Mask poked his head in. Jane thought hard.

"Any new information?" Jane turned away, acting more like a general than a killer ( or how she put it 'savior').

" Some. Jeff, Crook, Ben, and Masky have gone to Fremont."

"Fremont? If they want to hide then they might as well go to Tombouctu!" She exclaimed with a harsh laugh, " Send Matt, Liu, and Laughing Jack to get them. I want ALL of them alive, but I never said how much alive I want them. Barely works best." Jane then waved Happy Mask off to go tell the others. For months she worked to get an army together to kill Jeff and the people close to him, that way there would be no avengers. But Crook was throwing off everything. It was clear that she loved Jeff with all her heart and would do anything to protect him. Jane smiled. She could definitely use that to her advantage. But something the oracle said the day she met Crook stopped her in her pacing.

The sorcerer girl. Crook? Jane left the room and went out the front door. She walked briskly through the chilly air. Once she got to the mausoleum, she thought the question over in her mind. That was something she rarely did. Then she opened the door. The oracle was sitting in her usual spot, surrounded by a circle of salt.

"Does Crook know about her powers?" Jane blurted.

"Just barely. She's only began to tap into them." She took out a dagger and began carving symbols on it.

"What is that?"

"A dagger."

"I can see that."

"Then why did you ask?" The oracle closed her eyes and faded away. Jane stood there in shock. Then she left, bound for her old house.

Matt sat in the passenger seat of the car. Liu was driving and Laughing Jack sat in the back chatting away. Matt rubbed his temples. He had no idea if Jenny was alive or dead, or why the girl who was with his family's killer had known his name. Them there was Ben.

"That little sneak. I'll get him then I'll rescue Jennifer." He thought bitterly. Poor Jenny must be so scared and alone. She would be fifteen now. Even two years after her disappearance there was still missing posters everywhere in both Fairview and Fremont. It was gut wrenching to see his little sister smiling innocently while surrounded by words of anguish, "Just hang on Jenny. I'm coming to take you home."
