MY MOUTH OPENED IN SURPRISE.
"I am so so—" I quickly blurted out quickly but stopped my own voice when I glanced up to see a a familiar face — wearing a graduation costume hovered on top of his white dress shirt. Kai. The same guy who came up to me and Dre during my visit to Wild J's Club. My middle school crush. I stared blankly at him before I feel myself being anxious, but I was excited to see him. Maybe we can talk more?
"Oh, hi." I told, dumbfounded.
He glanced at me for a second, knowing I was someone he met before and offered me a warm smile. "Hey, nice to see you again —Dre's girlfriend." He held out a hand for a shake as I accepted it gladly. I feel instant butterflies, not going to lie.
I opened my mouth at first to tell him I am not his girlfriend at all but shut it with a smile. "Kai, right. I know yo—" I quickly stopped myself as he raised an eyebrow.
"You know me?"
"Um, actually we went to middle school together." I put on a quick nervous grin, but I felt my legs being a little jelly.
"Ah for real? I didn't catch your name." He furrowed his eyebrows in curiosity. I looked at him blankly.
"Milana." Please remember me.
"Milana." He rolled my name softly on his tongue. This is the first time I've ever heard him say my name, and not to be creepy but it sounded really nice. He stared at me for a second, examining my features before a gasp coming out of his mouth. "Ah."
Oh shit, he remembered?
Then a grin appeared on his face. "Milana Cavallero, right? The quiet girl that always sits next to the window and eat peaches for snacktime?" He informed. My jaw dropped into a gasp before I finally understood him completely. He did in fact, described me perfectly. As well as my surname.
I laughed awkwardly. So my crush did in fact acknowledge me back then. "Yeah, that's me."
His lips then shut into a thin line before placing an index to his chest. "No wonder you're familiar. Do you remember me? I remembered you a whole lot." He then sighed. I blushed. Wow but how? "Especially when that one prick kept bothering you all the time." Guess that prick is Kade Perez. I literally became popular because of him.
"Kade Perez?"
"You remembered him?" He laughed.
It was like a nightmare. Of course I'd remember. If it was just a normal human being that don't mess with me, of course I wouldn't remember.
"Unfortunately, so." I added.
"The first time I talked to you was when I dodged a basket ball that he tried to hit you with."
"Yeah I still remember that." In fact I just saw him few days ago, or just an hour ago as well. "And I remembered I didn't get to properly thank you. So thank you a lot for it. I was too shy to say it back then." I nervously bit my lip and let out a small laugh.
His lips slowly curved into a smile. "No worries, where did you disappear after middle school?"
"I went into homeschooling till now, much better, and to escape the presence of the prick." I grinned.
He nodded. "How did you know Dre since you don't go here?"
I awkwardly laughed. "It's a long story."
