MY SMILE BEAMED up at his face with enthusiasm as I spoke.
"Happy Father's Day, Dad."
His lips parted for a second. His eyes lingered on the wrapped gift resting on both of my palms. "Peach, what is this?" He emits a bark of laughter, gently taking the gift off of my hands.
"Open it." I sent him a toothy grin.
He raised a brow before his fingers clutched onto the ribbon and slowly untangle it. My palms repeatedly patting each other, feeling impatient. He was taking a minute to open that box. Did I wrap it up too secured?
"Wow." His eyes inspect the objects inside.
I wiggled my eyebrows. "Ya' like it?" I asked as he gazed at the folded polo shirt, a cologne, a watch and a card. It was a Father's Day set I bought online that fit my budget. His breathing stopped for a second before he looked at me with a perplexed face. His fingers grasped onto an item before holding up to his chest.
"Peach, I told you. I don't need a new watch." His expression was kind of hilarious.
I grumbled. "You've been using that watch for eternity. Look at how rusty it is." I tugged onto his old watch. It's been on his wrist everyday since mom was still here.
"Well this is like Christmas and I love it. Thank you, sweetheart."
"Welcome, Dad. I'm the best daughter in the world." I gave him a teasing wink and stuck my tongue out.
"Of course you are, cause I made you." He emitted another bark of laughter. I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Your birthday is in four days, I still don't know what to get you. Help me and give suggestions."
"I would rather it be a surprise. Just get me anything you want, but just remember that play-station was the best gift from you." I grinned.
He leaned back onto his chair before exhaling. "Christ, how would I top that off?" I shrugged, grabbing my fork again and stab it into the casserole.
"What'd you do yesterday?" He raised a brow, chewing afterwards.
"I went to a soccer game to see a friend." I sipped slowly on my lemonade.
He pursed his lips. "Mhm? Who?"
I tried to hide my face with the glass for a second. "Kai."
