MY TEETH GRITTED as my eyes followed his every movements like a hawk.So close, so fucking close. He dodged his opponent and tap his feet against the ball left to right smoothly. It was only a moment until his right leg fiercely kicked the ball straight ahead. My lips parted as I was waiting for the goalkeeper to make a move. Before I knew it, my hands raised to the sky as I jolted my body up. My anticipated face turned into a full blown wide grin as my hands clapped like a cheery seal. The strangers around me as well had my movements.
The stadium was filled with whistles and clapping sounds as the voices of cheerleaders come right after. Kai was thrown onto the air by his teammates. With a huge grin on his face, he lets out a loud yell. It made me happy, reminded me back in middle school where he would always play soccer during recess. Sometimes when I pass him going to class, I would secretly watch him. Not the game. I was not into soccer, I was more of a basketball person. But to be honest, I'm not much into sports anyways.
Now seeing him actually playing for a big crowd and won the last goal of the game is just amazing. He's doing what he truly likes, I'm guessing he's probably going to get a college scholarship in sports.
Kai's eyes roamed throughout the audience as it stopped on mine. His grin transformed into a smile as he jogged his way up to my spot. "You did incredible, Kai." I complimented with a grin.
"Milana," he called out before engulfing his arm around my shoulder and pulled me in for a quick embrace. My cheeks heated up as I swallowed. His head dipped down beside my ear as I felt his sweat trickled down my shoulder. He softly spoke. "Thank you, for being here."
"Y—You're welcome." I stammered, stifling a nervous chuckle as I pat his back.
He pulled away with a blank look on his face like he was chewing on the inside of his cheeks. I have never seen this side of Kai Giuterres. It's adorable. "No I mean thank you. For staying until the end of the game. Celeste would never do that, she would leave after ten minutes, either come back at the very end or not at all."
"Since you ask me to do so," Another chuckle escaped my lips as I gave him a reassuring smile. "Also I had to repay you for what you did years ago."
He looked at me for a moment before smiling. "We're having an after party later, wanna join?"
"With them?" He nodded.
"It's alright. Not in the mood for a party tonight." I chuckled quietly and straightened my lips. Leaving the important part that I might be left alone there. That was why for Dre's actual birthday party, I reminded him in advance. But still in the end, I was left alone. Plus, I want Kai to have fun with his teammates as well without me barging in. I guess I'm greedy. I wanted to spend time just with him. Milana, please. I'm going to pull out my hair.
