Slight trigger assault warning at the end.

MY HAND HASTILY WIPED the table with the clean cloth and clutched onto the tray with the almost empty plates of leftovers. I scurried towards the kitchen, and emptying everything until the tray was set to be used again. It's the end of lunch hour, so there was more time for me to gather all the dirty plates and cutleries.

"Milana, could you make me a quick iced lemonade. I'm sweating my head off." Molly's voice interrupted my movements for a second as I responded with a quick yes and a nod.

It was summer anyways, and Molly had been multitasking since the day I work here. Molly is also the one that I spoke the most with, even personal stuff. Susie is usually in her office and sometimes come to help at the front, but even then, she doesn't really put up a long conversation with me. I guess it might have to do with the language barrier. It felt like she's more comfortable with talking in Spanish, even though she lived here for a long time. Thus, why she's close with Dre and Kade. But that didn't bother me because she really is a wonderful and polite person.

As I was stirring the lemonade, making sure the sugary liquid reach at all levels of the liquid - I heard a short masculine cough in front of me. I tilted my head up, expecting a random customer that didn't get my attention. But then again, he should be in front of Molly if he wants to order something. I'm just here on the side making drinks.

A familiar brown eyes stared back at me with worry and guilt as his adam's apple bobbed up and down. My brows stitched together, trying to give him the most intimidating stare I could. Clearly, because I am still mad at him blowing me off like a confetti.

"Why are you here, Kai?" I chuntered. Leaning down, I opened the freezer. Shoveling ice and chucking into the glass, standing back up in annoyance. I avoided his eye contact.

I hear him let out a heavy sigh as I stared back for a moment to see him scratched the back of his head in frustration. "Milana, I'm sorry again for yesterday. I came to sort things out."

I sent him a glare that could shoot daggers into his chest before sauntering towards Molly's spot. "Like you didn't know what you did? Leaving me for half an hour and then finding out you're staying?" I placed her lemonade with a small thud. I felt Molly's eyes on mine for a brief second as she pretends not to be eavesdropping. She's literally the type to do that. Not in a vicious way of course.

"Mil-"

I gestured Kai to come to the side to keep a distance from Molly. I leaned towards him before hissing my words out. "You make me wait just to find out what you're doing. I would have waited until an hour and search you inside. Thankfully, Perez was there to inform me earlier. You could've called me earlier to go home, or just don't invite me at all if you're going to cancel it."

His brows furrowed in disappointment as he pursed his lower lip, running a hand through his hair. "Milana, look. Just listen to me." He paused for a second. "I'm sorry. When I went back in to find my friend, Celeste just happen to appear out of nowhere and kissed me. Fuck, I got carried away and I couldn't stop." I felt my hand being enveloped by his as it made me slightly gulped. "I'm so sorry I made you wait, I completely forgotten. It's my fucking fault and selfishness."

Forgotten. The only positive thing he did yesterday was pulling me away from that I-give-you-truffles-to-sleep-with-you dude.

I let out a small sigh before pulling my hand out of his, making him bat his eyelashes in disappointment. "Look Kai, I don't know whether I can hang out with you anymore. I'm having trust issues now. She keeps interfering."
