It took awhile for everything to become unfrozen again, but the spell broke around the time the coaches came back from handling off Jiro. My entire team could have jumped right out of their shoes when the boys appeared through the doors, sleeves rolled up to their elbows and hands empty of the dragon. It was a sight that should have brought if relief, but all we could focus on at the moment was our dark future.

While most boys in the gym still had smoke fuming from their eyes, Nekomata was one of the very few with a calm expression. "Are you girls ok?" He asked, hurrying over to where me and my teammates stood. "You don't have to worry anymore. If he wants to try harming any of you girls again, he's gonna have to come through all of us first."

You would think we would have been able to relax with his words, but I could feel that the girls were still on edge after everything that went down. While some were so frightened they could barely move, many were still nothing but balls of rage after being held back from finally confronting Jiro.

His words echoed around the gym like a dark prophecy, positing the girls minds just as it was intended to do. "How can anyone be so sure? Did you hear what he said?" Haruka exclaimed over all the commotion. "If we don't listen, he'll spill everything! There has to be something we can do, please! I never want to see him again!"

I could feel the disappointment in everybody as Nekomata gives a grave shake of his head. "I'm sorry, girls, but your school comes from a whole other district than ours. We only possess the right to enforce rules that apply around here, but other affairs we simply have no power over. Our words would be meaningless, and they would only cause more trouble for you later. I truly wish we could do more."

"Oh, so that's it then?" My back stiffened when I heard Shinobu's voice explode from within the crowd, shoving her way forward to face Nekomata and all the other boys behind him. They were in for it now. "You guys get us into this mess but leave us to clean it up? What the hell did you expect to happen, of course he's gonna run to the board after what just happened! This is exactly what we said not to do!"

"Hey, a thank you would be great for saving your asses!" Tora defended, coming up from behind Nekomata. "If it wasn't for us, then you guys would have beaten Jiro into the dirt, then who'd be the bad guy?"

Tension was rapidly rising between the teams as everyone's anger finally bursted. "We will do whatever it takes to protect our own, and we do just fine handling things by ourselves!" Nomura barked in his face after she and Kimie had returned from caring for Etsuka, who now rested in the care of the other team's lady managers. Both of their faces were red as fire as they took Shinobu's side. "Now, because of you butting your noses into our business, this whole team could be ruined!"

"Oh my god, what if he goes to the board!" Isozaki was now having a panic attack as she clutched a hand to her chest to help steady her now rapid breathing. "We're doomed if the media gets to this, our image will be dragged through the mud!"

It was pure chaos around the court as everyone tried to settle their now boiling adrenaline, it was clear that Jiro's words had done their part on the girls. While many of my older teammates were now charging head on into a quarrel with the boys, most of our younger members were still suffering from shock as they huddled together in the crowd.

"What do you think he's gonna do to us when we get home?" Yoshie whimpers to Kaiya, both of the pups latched on to each other in the middle of the fight as they held their hands up to their ears to block out all the shouting.
