GUESS WHOS BACK!!!!!!! Yep, hiya again, it's me! I knowww you guys probably hate me for taking such a long break on this story, but I felt myself start to lose inspiration for a bit and I didn't want it to suffer because I fell in a rut, so I took a few months off. Now, I recently binged Haikyuu again and I am back with a full head of ideas! I'm so happy to be working with Nekoma and the Katsushika girls again, there is still so much more of their story to tell!
For all of the readers who are still here, thanks for bearing with me and I hope you enjoy the beginning of Akiraa and Kuroo's first date ❤️❤️❤️

I stared excitedly out the window as the train carried us away from the green countryside and towards the shining lights of the city only half an hour away. It has been so long since I've been outside of the district, we lost a lot of our away game opportunities during our half year decay. That's what I missed most of all during that dark time. I use to love traveling with the team to different cities, where we would meet these other amazing teams that would take us in and show us around their town after our game. Hopefully, now that Katsushika was free once again, we could rebuild our once strong relationships.
During the train ride, Kuroo seemed very eager to hear any updates I had about Katsushika, as if his entire team hasn't kept in full contact with mine since we parted not long ago. "So how have you girls been holding up these past few days?" He asks, turning to look at me while my whole body was fully rotated in my seat to watch the outside pass.
I had to tear my gaze away from the view and rotate back around to meet his eye, leaning down to resting my cheek on my folded arms in the window seal. "It's getting there, we still have a ton of work to do before this team can be restored to what it once was." I heave a heavy sign as my mind wanders to the past, to all the damage we have done in only a year. "We have a lot of opponents we need to mend things with, not to mention the school board. It'll take a lot of work to get them back on our side again after all the trouble we have caused."
He surprisingly gives a light chuckle. "Knowing you girls, it'll be easy." He reaches up and sets a strong hand over my own while locking our eyes together. "It may not be as bad as you think it is. You've waited long enough for a chance like this, so try and enjoy it."
My lips cracked into a small smile as I flipped back around in my seat, now sitting shoulder to shoulder with Kuroo with my head resting on his arm. "I know, but after being on alert for so long, it's hard to finally accept that he is gone." I still barely had the courage to utter his name, same as everyone else on my team. It would be awhile before we could speak of the dragon again. "Heck, I feel kind of guilty going out tonight when it has barely been a week since the fight. I feel like I should be helping some of the first years, or talking to Iku-sensei about lineups, or-"
I was suddenly cut off by a gentle finger brushing against my lips, and I could feel Kuroo's whole body shaking in laughter. After shooting him a teasing glare, he holds up his hands in surrender. "I'm just trying to help you get your mind off the team for once." He said warmly. "You've been through enough lately, it's time to just push all your problems to the back of your mind. You may be the captain, but even we have to take breaks sometimes. That's what the boys told me earlier."
"Oh, so you had your friends in your ear about tonight too." The thought about the entire Nekoma team all banding together to get Kuroo ready for this date was one of the most amusing thoughts of the evening. Whatever happened, I can't imagine it was worse than the third years helping me. "The girls said the same thing. They told me I earned this, but did I really earn anything? I'm still trying to make things right with my team after everything I put them through. I don't think I'll ever live that down."
