————————————————I wanted so badly to stay one more day in Tokyo, and I wasn't alone, but despite how hard me and my teammates, along with all of the boys in Nekoma tried to convince Nekomata to let us stay one more night, he made the annoyingly good point that there was no need for us to be away from our team longer than we need to be, especially with the Full Moon Games approaching as fast as they are.
However, he let us continue the practice for a few more hours, and by the end of it, I'm pretty sure he wanted us to stay just as badly as we did. Still, he brought the practice to an end a little after noon and urged us to begin preparing to leave so we can get back before dark and hopefully meet our team at Katsushika before they leave for the day.
After gathering our belongings, the boys helped us clean up the dorm we stayed in, and just that task took way longer than it should have, but I know it was because everyone was stalling until we absolutely had to get going to catch a train.
The whole Nekoma team then offered to walk us to the train station, me and a Kuroo walking hand in hand the whole way there while everyone else crowded behind us. I was surprised to see Shinobu and Kimie actually interacting with the boys, and I even seen Shinobu step up next to Kimie when the boys began getting a bit too rowdy. Kimie spend most of her time with Lev and Kenma, both boys on either of her sides all the way to the station. When we get there, we have a bit of time to hang out before the next train comes, and I just enjoy the last couple of minutes with Nekoma tucked by Kuroo's side, with Lev not far off with Miyu as they talk about when they will finally be taught the technique, Kenma next to them looking up every few seconds from his game boy to listen. When we finally hear the train approaching in the distance, I could feel my heart dropping while I turn to Kuroo, but he numbs a bit of the pain when he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss on my lips, followed by one last kiss on the forehead before I am forced to board.
Next thing I know, me and my teammates are sitting inside a car on the train, our faces pressed against the window to wave goodbye to the boys watching from the outside. There is a tug at my heart when I see Lev's lips scream 'See you soon, Nekayama-senpai!' and parting with Kuroo alone made it almost impossible to look away.
It didn't become easier when we began pulling out of the station, the bits following along beside the train as far as the station floor would allow, but soon we were off towards the mountains, and the sight of our Nekoma boys becomes blocked by a row of compact apartment buildings lining the tracks.
Even though I could have stayed in Tokyo for weeks, it still felt refreshing when we stopped seeing buildings rushing past the train windows and began seeing lush, green trees instead. Higher and higher we climbed into the mountain province of Japan, and soon I felt a small jolt as the train pulled to a stop in our home train station, much smaller than the one in Tokyo, with dark oak logs making up the station walls and worn down, scuffed wood lining the floors. Home.
We didn't even bother dropping our bags off back at our houses, we just carried them with us as we called for a ride to take us to Katsushika. As always, today s a scheduled practice day, so we all knew that the team would be in the gym already beginning to prepare for the Full Moon Games. They probably never suspected we'd be back so soon, and we all couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces when we tell them all that went down while we were at Nekoma High.
