Finally got a chance to sit and finish this chapter! It's been a hectic few weeks, I just finished my move to Florida for college and I'm just now getting some time to breathe. I've been dying to get to this chapter, cause it introduces a character that I've had planned for the series for a while now. 🦇🦇🦇
Alright, that's all for now. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Even though the gates haven't even open to the public yet, the campus is already alive with life as students take this time to walk around and admire the outcome of their long days of hard work these past few weeks.
The boys jaws drop to the floor only minutes after entering the event area, their eyes dancing around to the endless rows of bright blue decorations. Kuroo is probably the only one not in complete shock, giving a light chuckle while shaking his head in complete unsurprise. When talking about the students at Katsushika, he expected nothing less.
While he had seen some of the decorations a few weeks before, there is one difference able to be noticed within the now not-so-never-ending sea of blue. Now, along with the bold Katsushika color, there are dark, blood red flags waving in the breeze that, instead of a wolf, depict a bat with its wings outstretched majestically. Narrowing his eyes, Kuroo recognizes the iconic fanged mascot of Sukāretto High.
"I see you guys added some extra banners around campus." Kuroo points out, nudging Akiraa while gesturing to one of the red flags that pass overhead as they walk.
Akiraa follows his gaze to the picture of the bat, and he sees a scowl instantly find its way onto her face as she rolls her eyes. "Yeah, the board said we had to balance out the different school decorations since these games are about both Katsushika and Sukāretto. Apparently we were being 'too self absorbed' before by only decorating with blue."
She makes air quotes with her fingers while practically spitting the last part out, and Kuroo has to muffle his laughter to avoid getting a punch in the shoulder.
Their attention is so drawn back to the group when they hear Bokuto and Hinata let out excited cries up ahead, and they both turn to see them gazing into a tent along the side of the cobblestone path. Inside is a typical ring toss game, but Akiraa can guess that the boy's eyes were caught by the prizes hanging above.
"Look! You can win little wolf plushies!" Hinata chirps, running forward to get a closer look. "And they even have bat ones too for Sukāretto!"
While everyone walks over to look, Akaashi peeks over to where Akiraa is watching from the side. "Speaking of Sukāretto, when exactly are they supposed to get here? I thought we'd see some of their players by now."
Eyes curiously turn to Akiraa as she replies. "I wouldn't hold your breath. Sukāretto always arrives after the gates are open to the public. They don't like making a big, dramatic entrance, so they just use the crowds to blend in. We never know when their gonna pop up."
"Yeah, it's super weird!" Miyu jumps in, gesturing wildly while coming up beside Akiraa "You never see them come into campus. It's like they just sort of... appear out of nowhere!"
This earns many confused glances from the boys, but one seems to feed into the lore easier than the others. "Well, they are known as the Vampire Bats after all." Bokuto says very matter of factly, pointing up to the bat symbol on a nearby red flag. "See? Red like blood! It's their whole trademark!"
This seems to pique everyone's interest, and Akiraa can't fight the annoyed grumble. "So they have a cool, mysterious nickname, what's the big deal?!" She huffs. "The only reason people feed into the bat thing so much is because Sukāretto has been milking it for years! Even their campus looks like a Hollywood knockoff of Dracula's castle, gargoyles, iron gates, stone walls, the works! Not to mention those edgy, dark red uniforms and how they just stand around in dark corners all creepy, watching our every move. I mean, it's ridiculous! Can you imagine someone being that obsessed with their school mascot?"
