One would think that a nice, peaceful train ride through the mountains heading to the city would be the best remedy to calm an anxious mind, especially to me, who has always enjoyed long journeys through nature. However, the magic I had felt during my past travels seems to have vanished, and I have a firm suspicion that it is because of the bitter, scowling, demon of the anti-Christ sitting on my row with three whole empty seats in between us.

It's been half an hour since we left the train station in our town, and Shinobu has made it her life goal to kill me with that stupid death glare of hers before we make it to our destination. Although, despite how torturous this ride has been so far, I can't help but be excited for where Iku-sensei decided to send us. Actually... I'm ecstatic!

Once we all had made it back to our houses and packed our bags for this mystery field trip, we met Iku back at the front of the Katsushika campus like she told us and was finally able to hear whatever she had planned. Turns out, the mystery saviors that Iku believes will be able to help this lost cause of a situation are no other than our feline friends at Nekoma High.

I may have protested before, but I'm not going to lie, the thought of seeing Kuroo and the rest of the boys after thinking that it would be weeks before we all could meet up again turned my mood around.

While Kimie continued to show little enthusiasm, staring out the window with her headphones still glued over her ears, I only got a few glimpses of Miyu as she bounced around the tiny train compartment, her squeals so loud they could shatter glass. She's been like this ever since hearing about Nekoma, and I know she's just excited to be reunited with Kenma and Lev.

"I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait!" She exclaimed repeatedly as she dashes over to my side of the train, staring out the window to the view over the mountain side. "Me and Lev are going to be able to work together while you teach us! This is gonna be so much fun!"

I give a light chuckle while reaching up and setting a hand on her shoulder, hoping to settle her constant bouncing before she could cause the car to derail. "Calm down, Pup. This isn't supposed to be some fun field trip. You better be prepared to work hard if you wanna be a regular on the court during these games."

I watched as Miyu opened her mouth to respond, but was suddenly cut off by a loud, unmistakable scoff off to the side. Turning my head, I looked to see Shinobu in the same position she has been in since we got onto the train, but it was easy to see her beady eyes staring at us from between the strands of her side bangs.

It was as if I could feel my rage beginning to bubble back up to the surface as I give her a sharp glare. "Got something you wanna say to me?" I asked as I turned my head to meet her gaze, careful as to not let my voice rise to an aggressive tone with Miyu watching.

One thing about Shinobu is that, unlike most people, if she thinks something about you in her head, she has no trouble saying it out loud and to your face. This is just one of those many situations where her loose mouth shows it's true nature. "Oh it's nothing..." she insists snobbishly, sticking her nose in the air as if she was smelling something foul. "I just think it's ridiculous that you now have two annoying little minions worshipping the very ground you walk on. Isn't one enough for you to flaunt around with or do you need that much attention?"

"You act as if your opinion is going to change my mind about taking in another kid." I cut in quickly. "I agreed to teach Lev because-"

"Because it was a favor to your boyfriend, I bet." She mutters under her breath before I could finish my sentence.

My hands clench tightly into fists as containing my anger became a much more difficult task. "Because he needs someone who can lead him down the right path, to bring out his full potential, and I'm not just going to turn down a kid who is brave enough to ask me personally for help."
