Bates leaned into the jeep window with his arms rested along the surface. "So, how did i do?" He smiled.
"I liked the one we just looked at the most" I shrugged. "There's a lot of space and i can get Gucci a little brother. And that closet was just-" i did a mind blown hand gesture and relaxed in my seat. "I might get this one actually" I shrugged.
"Well think about it and let me know" he smiled and placed his hand on my shoulder, squeezing it gently before standing up straight. "Im gonna head out i have to go pick up a few things Vannah ordered for you"
"I can go get it, take the day off. " I giggled.
" no it's fine I have to go out that way anyways" he waved to V and started to make his way to his truck which was two parking spaces away from mine. "Byeeee" he sang.
"Bye bates" i rolled my window up and ran a hand through my hair before bringing the truck to life with a sigh. "Where to now?" I asked.
"What's wrong you've been quiet since we left and you and i both know you're never quite" she giggled and grabbed my hand.
"Nothing" I smiled.
"You're such a liar you know what I said bothered you" she giggled. "Stop being a pussy and talk about it"
"It didn't bother me it's just unfair I guess" I shrugged. "It's not fair that you know what I've been through yet you do this" I giggled. "I just can't go through all of that right now-- again."
She turned in her seat and looked at me with furrowed brows. " i do all of what? So you're saying this is all my fault basically, okay y/n" she sat back in her previous spot and looked out the window. "Are you gonna drive or?" She said with an attitude.
I furrowed my eyebrows as well and chuckled. "Why are you mad right now?"
"Im not mad just go back to my place"
"You're mad" I giggled. "Do you wanna get ice cream first?" I smiled in hope it would help the situation.
"No just take me home i think we should take some time apart so i can chill apparently " she crossed her arms and looked at everything around us, avoiding all eye contact.
I rolled my eyes and slowly drove off into traffic. "What does that even mean?"
"It means you should stay at your house for a little and I should stay at mine until I don't feel anything for you in that way"
I threw my arms up and let them fall. "V seriously?"
She turned her head finally and looked at me seriously. "Yes seriously"
"Whatever dude" i sighed.

The rest of the car ride back to V's consisted of just music, no singing, no dancing, just music. We didn't even talk.
I rolled my window down and laid my head on my arm. " V" I called after her as i watched her walk to her front door.
She turned around and crossed her arms" what?" She asked.
"Come here" I smiled.
"Why?"
"Just come here please" The sun suddenly peaked over her roof, blinding me and causing me to squint.
She did as she was told and walked over to my side of the truck hesitantly with an attitude. "What?"
I puckered my lips for a kiss but she flipped me off instead and pressed her middle finger to my lips. I giggled and reached out to grab her by her shirt, then pulling her closer. "Are you really gonna be like that?" I said softly as i inched closer to her face.
