My first day back to school was horrible, Lauren wasn't here and frankly that put me in a bad mood for some reason. I've been irritated and snappy all day because I'm so used to being around her, and well without her I'm not my happy, caring, sweet self.
All my classes felt 2 hours longer than usual today especially the class I'm in now, my last one of the day. It isn't really much of a class today though. About four to five students were assigned to either a studio or a classroom watching a video on the basics of the equipment we use, but since I already know all of that I had studio time. My assignment this week was to help three high school students make their own beat from scratch for a song, which will eventually be placed in a competition-- winners get a cash and some mystery prize.
"I think we should do a trap-step type beat" the boy with curly blonde hair said as he smiled brightly and nodded
"That's kinda basic don't you think" i giggled and spun around in the computer chair." Literally Everyone is gonna use that style"
"Well if you're as good as everyone says you are you'll make it stand out" gabby snapped calmly "What do you suggest if that's basic"
"Are you guys gonna actually listen to what I have to say?" I raised my eyebrows being a smart ass
They all rolled their eyes " yes"
"You guys are to busy trying to agree on a style when you should think about who everyone likes right now, who's hot, who's not." I sat up in my chair and wheeled over to the couch they were all sitting on. " flume, hippie sabotage, Kaytranada, Cashmere cat, snake ships, disclosure, SZN, Kanye-- sorta kinda, and those are just a hand full of popular electronic artist right now. Tonight I want all of you to do your research on who's hot and who's not-- why are the 'nots' not hot? Write it down and we'll meet back here tomorrow"
"So we aren't actually doing anything today?" Gabby asked
"No you guys need to do your research first. We have time." I wheeled back to my previous spot and grabbed my phone off the empty spot on the desk to check the time.
"Shit i have to go guys I have a meeting" I quickly got up and grabbed my jean jacket from the back of the chair and my keys from the end table. "Text me if you have any questions"
I ran out of the building like my life was depending on it and jogged to my truck, pulling my phone out at the same time to call Lauren.
"Hi Baby "
I smiled and tried to catch my breath as I finally sat in the driver seat of my Jeep. "Hi" I breathed out "Im on my way to his office right now i just wanted to let you know and tell you I love you " I carefully backed out of the parking spot I was in and made my way to Franciscos office.
She giggled "I love you too, how was school?"
"Horrible" I giggled "how was your day?"
"Horrible" she giggled as well and I heard shuffling on her end "hey someone's calling I'll call you back alright?"
"I'll just text you after the meeting I'm not far from him"
