Pain.
That was all I felt when I felt somewhat awake.
I try and move my arms, but an invisible force holds me in place.
My eyes lids feel so heavy, but again nothing is holding them closed.
Every breath I took made a searing pain soar through my body.
I heard the continuous beep of my heart.
I felt nothing or no one holding my hand.
A feeling of disappointment appears and disappears just as fast as it came.
I thought I missed Kain holding my hand like he was the last time I was out.I hear the door open and I try and show I am ok, but I still can't move.
The person takes a seat really close to me.
I wait patiently to find out who it was."Noel..." I hear scratchy voice speak.
I can't identify that voice.
I feeling of fear slices through me.
Did they not save me?
Am I still with Vincent?"I need you to wake up..." He speaks again and something about his voice rings a bell.
His voice is so different.
It's so weak.
I wait for him to speak again."I miss your eyes..." He speaks and I imagine his face.
I see the pain and sadness in his eyes.
I see his permanently anguished face."I miss you..." He whispers.
He takes my hand in his.
I want to feel his warmth, but I can't feel a thing."I need to tell you how sorry I am..." He speaks and I feel a wet substance drip on my hands.
He inhales a shaky breath.
I want so badly to comfort him."I need you to know how I feel..." I feel his hand leave mine and cup my face.
He wipes his finger under my eye.
I realize that I was crying along with him."Please don't cry... I know you can hear me..." He whispers and takes my hand in his.
He rubs his thumb on the palm of my hand in soothing circles.
I find myself being slowly dragged back into darkness.
I find it inside of me to show him that I know he is here.
With all the strength I can muster I squeeze his hand ever so lightly.
After that I am submerged in darkness once again.
The pain I felt before subsides.
I look into the endless abyss.
I suddenly miss Kain with all my heart.
I hope he felt my little display of gratitude.KAINS P.O.V
I slowly open her door.
She lays still while her heart rate is constant.
I pull up a chair and sit close to her.
I hear her heart rate increase.
She can hear me."Noel..." My voice sounding foreign to my own ears.
It's so empty and weak.
I finally feel weak."I need you to wake up..." I speak my only wish.
Her heart rate slows down, but not to the point where she would be out again."I miss your eyes..." I whisper and look up into her sleeping face.
Her face is peaceful
She looks to be in a peaceful sleep.
Her dreams not haunted with her past."I miss you..." I take her small hand in my larger one.
Her hands are so cold."I need you to know how sorry I am..." I stray tear drips down onto her hand.
I inhale a shaky breath as I picture her smile.
I replay the moment I met her."I need you to know how I feel..." I whisper and look up at her face.
I see a lonely tear slip from her eye.
I release her hand and cup her face gently in my hands.
I wipe the tear away with my thumb."Please don't cry... I know you can hear me..." I take her ice cold hand in mine again.
I slowly rub soothing circles on the palm of her hand with my thumb.
I sit and just watch her.
I wait for her to suddenly jump back to life
I wait for her to come back to me.
My entire body goes stiff when I feel the slightest squeeze.
She wants me to know she can hear me.
I just wait.
I wait for her.
