"His ex has history of being abusive. The parents were getting so concerned that they took pictures of the bruises," I relayed everything the parents confessed to the team back in the squad room.
"Why didn't they go to the police," Barba asked as he was looking at the board of evidence we had.
"Eli asked them not to because he was scared of what Brian could be capable of, plus Brian's dad is a cop."
"He used his dad's job against Eli, his family could have been harassed. So Brian got his way until it was too much," Sonny was looking at the photos of Eli's bruises.
Liv's phone rang just then so she got up to answer it.
"We don't have a confession from Brian so we need another piece of evidence to take him to court," Barba was looking at his notes now.
"How about DNA evidence? The soda can we gave Brian during interrogation went through. He raped Eli," Liv nodded to Fin and they walked out to go arrest Brian.

"How does the defendant plead?," the judge looked at Brian.
"Not guilty, your honor," Brian's lawyer said with a smug grin.
"The people request remand, he has means to flee," Barba spoke.
"My client is a young man who understands how the law works and has no reason to flee with his senior prom coming up," Brian's lawyer challenged.
"Then why did he run away to his father's cabin?," Barba spat.
"Order! I agree with Mr. Barba, bail set at fifty thousand," the judge ruled.

"Are you ready?," I asked Eli when court was back on weeks later.
"A little nervous but I'll be ok," he rubbed at his face which still had a faint bruise from the attack.
"Let me know if you need anything, it'll be rough but I know you can handle this," I gave him a nod.
He returned it with a smile. "Thank you."

Eli told his story to the jury, he was hesitant to answer questions but he handled everything that was thrown at him. He's a brave kid. When Brian got up to be questioned, was another story. He answered every question with a snark reply and with a smug smile on his face. Barba pointed it out to the jury too but that didn't stop Brian. He was guilty everyone could see that, he held no remorse for what he did. So it was to our joy when the jury declared him guilty.

The next day at the precinct I called Eli's parents to make sure that he was ok and they told me they have him finishing school from home because the kids at school were bullying him. Despite that he's doing well and is excited to be going to college. I wished him well and the best of luck.

I had my entire living room set up for the Halloween party tonight. I put away all of my glass and sharp objects so that Liv and Rollins' kids wouldn't hurt themselves. There were cobwebs, fake candles, a few fake skulls on the table, and a fake bug here and there. I had all of the Halloween themed snacks out and ominous music playing. This party was gonna be a hit, I was dressed as a circus ring leader as tonight's gracious host.

I even bought a cane for the whole ensemble. I was really excited for tonight, I just hope people show up. There was a knock on the door so I turned the lights off, a green light filled the room up instead and the fog machine started working it's magic. I looked through the peep hole to see that it was Liv, Rollins, their kids, and Sonny. I opened the door dramatically. "Welcome, welcome, one and all," I swung my arms out and bowed low. "Welcome to my humble abode. Who do we have here," I looked at Noah and Jessie. "A ferocious cat and Batman! Oh my!"
The kids were laughing at my antics as well as the adults. "Come in, come in."
They entered just as I turned the lights back on.
"You really went all out for this, huh," Rollins looked around.
"Yes, I did," I stuck my cane out. "There's chips, dips, drinks, and pizza for everyone please help yourself. Make yourselves comfortable please I insist!"
Once everyone got settled in and I put a movie on for the kids. I looked at everyone's costume as I brought out paper plates and napkins. Liv was Batgirl to match Noah's batman, Rollins was a witch to Jesse's black cat outfit, and Sonny was a guy from the men in black. His hair was slicked back, dark sunglasses on, and a very nice suit for the party.
There was another knock on the door so I went to answer it. "Welcome, welcome."

Everyone had arrived one at a time, the party was going great. Barba even showed up wearing a ship captains costume. Fin wore wrestling gear. It was really nice but I was kinda bummed that my friend Cole didn't show up. I was having fun talking to everyone so me being bummed out didn't last. I brought out candy to fill up Jessie and Noah's little pails. They were having a great time.
"Quite a party," Sonny came into the kitchen where I was putting out more desserts onto a platter.
"Thanks, I've been told that I throw the best ones so if you need a party planner, I'm your guy," I bowed a bit at my title.
"I'll keep that in mind. Plus from the looks on the kids faces you do."
I put a hand over my heart. "I'm glad."
"Need any help in here?"
"No, no, I've got it. Go relax and eat up cuz by the looks of it I ordered too many pizzas."
He chuckled. "Looks that way but hey pizza for breakfast."
I looked over at the boxes still untouched with a shrug. "Lunch and dinner too."
