*Sonny's POV*
Who was she talking about? Him? She was going to tell me something personal I know it but she wasn't ready. I won't go digging into her personal life, not when we're on the verge of coming to terms with this thing between us. If she found out that I did look up her past I know she wouldn't trust me. Just basics like social media, everything seemed ok.
I went home thinking about her and wondered if she was ok right now.*Garcia's POV*
I went to sleep with tears in my eyes and woke up with a pounding headache. My phone started going off making the headache worse. I looked at the caller ID to see Liv's name.
"Hello, Garcia here," I said softly.
"Sorry if I woke you. Are you ready to come back into work today?," she shouted in my ear. She was no way sorry.
"Yes, I am."
"Good, see you in a bit."
I hung up and dug into my bedside dresser for aspirin. I pulled out the bottle and scrambled out of bed and walked quickly to get water. Once I swallowed the pills though I had the urge to vomit. I ran to the bathroom and threw up the pills I just took. "Fuck." How was I gonna go into work like this? I took another two pills and downed it with water. I got into the bathtub and ran a cold shower to wake myself up. It was so fucking cold but if I was gonna be at work all day I needed this. After the shower I got dressed and headed out to the nearest coffee shop. I ordered a large coffee to go with extra sugar and a plain donut. I drove over to the precinct right after. I was starting to feel better already but that was quickly replaced with the realization of what happened last night. Hopefully Sonny doesn't press me for answers."Look who's back," Fin called out when I walked in.
I bowed a bit. "Thank you, I missed you too Fin."
"Welcome back, Garcia," Liv said walking out of her office.
"It's good to be back, Lieutenant."
An older man walked out of her office with a grim look on his face.
"Garcia, this is Deputy Chief William Dodds. Chief this is our newest member of SVU, Maia Garcia," Liv introduced us.
"Pleasure to meet you, sir," I shook his hand. I remember him from the news when his son had passed away. Heartbreaking story.
"Nice to meet you too," he replied.Today's case was a complicated one, there was a young man's body found in the river that showed blunt force trauma to the head. No one had ID'd him and he's not in the system. We had to wait for someone to call in and ask about a missing kid. I was working on some paperwork when I felt someone's eyes on me. I looked up at Sonny and he smiled at me.
"What?," I asked with a smile.
"You look tired," he noticed.
"You look tired," I poked back.
He shook his head and laughed. I drank some more water, already feeling breakfast trying to come back up. I choked it back and got back to work. Rollins walked in and told us about the security in front who told her they got a strange call asking about the body.
She relayed the conversation and it sounded like he was the person behind this.
"He said 'have you found the body this morning'?," Liv asked.
"Yeah and he said that we better catch him or there will be another body popping up soon," Rollins looked at us.
Damn, there's a murderer on the loose and he's targeting young people. "We should go through security cameras or go ask the witnesses who found the body," I spoke up.
Liv agreed. "Carisi and Garcia go through the footage and Fin and Rollins go talk to the witnesses," Liv waved us away.
I sat back down when I felt breakfast coming up for revenge. I walked to the bathroom so I wouldn't alarm Liv or Sonny. I threw up once I stepped into the stall. I groaned a bit and wiped at my mouth with tissue.
"This is probably the second time you've thrown up here," Sonny spoke up from the door.
I laughed. "Go back to work or Liv will think something's up."
I heard the door close and thought he left but he spoke up again. "It's ok, I'll wait."
I shook my head. "My, my, Sonny, becoming a rebel aren't we?"
He chuckled at that. "You're a bad influence on me."
I was pretty sure I wouldn't throw up again so I got up and opened the stall door. Sonny handed me a wet paper towel when I walked over to him.
"Thanks," I wiped at my mouth and washed my hands. I could feel his gaze on me, burning with questions.
"Who were you talking about last night?," he finally asked.
I sighed deeply. "No one important."
I threw the paper away and turned to leave when he grabbed my hand.
"You can tell me anything, Maia. I understand if you don't want to now but just know I'll be there when you're ready," he looked at me. He was telling me the truth, I could trust him. Just now was not the time for this. I gave him a small smile before walking out of the bathroom.
