We drove for awhile until we finally arrived at Sonny's apartment. I held Zen in my arms and smiled at the fact that Sonny was being so sweet. He grabbed my bags and we got out of his car. I didn't feel anyone spying on us so that was a plus.
We headed up to the second floor and came to his door. When we walked in I was surprised from what I saw.
"Expecting a man cave?," he asked when he saw my reaction.
"A bachelor pad," I joked.
He had a nice living room, cool tones and a nice grey couch. If I ventured to his kitchen I'd probably find a stocked fridge and cabinets. He had a nice clean bathroom too.
"You can take the bedroom if you'd like. I'll sleep on the couch," he came back from his room with a blanket.
"I'll take the couch," I put Zen down on the small loveseat. She stood up but then snuggled into the chair as if she wasn't aware of the change.
"I insist," Sonny said with a hand over his heart.
"And I insist," I flopped down onto the couch. "I'll take the couch. You've already done so much."
He sighed then shrugged. "Fine. The bathroom is down the hall on your left."
He walked into his room to bring out my bags. I thanked him and he went back to his room. I pulled out my joggers and tee, walked over to change in his bathroom afterwards I brushed my teeth and Zen's before getting comfortable on the couch. It was pretty comfy so there weren't any complaints from me. Zen was out cold minutes after I brushed her teeth.
"Last chance," Sonny came out of his room in a tank top and sweatpants. His hair was disheveled from the shower he took, messy and cute. His arms and torso we're toned as fuck. I bit my tongue before I could say something about it.
"I'm sure," I said softly.
"Ok. Goodnight, Maia."
"Goodnight, Sonny," it came out weird but I hoped he didn't notice my gaze following him out of the room. I flipped onto my stomach and screamed into my pillow. This guy was gonna give me a heart attack.

*Sonny's POV*
"Still haven't made a move yet?," Fin nudged me with his elbow earlier that day.
I looked up at to see Maia and the Lieutenant talking about her sleeping in the lounge. "Haven't had the right time."
Fin shook his head and scooted over to talk more quietly. "There will never be a right time with the both of you two working. What are you waiting for?"
"The right time," I grabbed the bottle of water next to me and chugged it to avoid anymore questions but he persisted.
"You know what you should do, ask her to stay at your place," Fin was leaning back in his chair while he spoke.
"Right, what if she thinks I'm trying to say something else," I gave him a look.
"That will be your opening. Plus she likes you so it won't be weird if you ask. I don't know what you two are waiting for," Fin rolled his eyes at our constant back and forth.
I don't know what we're waiting for either. "Why do you care if we end up together or not?"
He shrugged and grinned. "I'm a romantic."

Surprisingly, Fin's advice worked. I was pretty excited despite the fact that nothing was probably gonna happen between us tonight. When I walked out in my sweats I could see and feel her eyes lingering on my body which put a grin on my face. I think the reason I haven't made a move is because I was always full of nerves whenever I'm around her. I forget the words or everything about myself when she's near me. Her intoxicating perfume and beautiful smile just take over me. I wonder if she knew about the power she holds over me.

*Garcia's POV*
I woke up with a start when my phone went off. Turns out last night's events gave me a nightmare and I hadn't slept like I wanted to. Seven hours, maybe less, is what I got. I answered Liv's call. "Garcia."
"Are you alright, I came in and you weren't in the lounge," she sounded worried.
"Yeah, Sonny let us stay at his place," I rubbed at my eyes and looked down at Zen. She sensed my distress last night and cuddled with me.
"That's probably for the best in case the killer were to show up at the precinct," Liv added.
"Anything new come up?," I asked.
"Nothing yet but come in anyways."
"See you then, Lieutenant."
I hung up the phone and stretched out my limbs. I gave Zen a quick kiss and got up to use the restroom. Sonny's door was closed when I looked down the hall, he was probably still sleeping. I washed my face in the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I headed back to the living room and searched my bag for a new change of clothes, I'll go out and get us some breakfast. Before I left I served Zen her's and grabbed my phone. While I drove I thought about Sonny's hot bod from last night. That should have gave me some pretty hot dreams like it usually does but I guess I was more worried about the killer. I walked into the small bakery and picked up a bag and tongs to pick out the pieces of bread I wanted. As I walked I felt someone near me so I glanced for a second. Before I could though he grabbed my arm.
"Stay turned around, detective," he warned me.
"Ok, got it. Please, I don't want any problems," I said softly.
"Are you cops even trying to look for me? I've been dropping victims left and right, yet no progress made!," he snapped at me. While he talked I looked in the reflection of the glass and caught a glimpse of his face. I repeated his features in my mind so that I could get it to a sketch artist. He noticed me staring at his reflection and shoved my face away from it.
"Don't be a cop!," he spat.
"Don't be a coward and let me see your face!," I snapped back.
He pulled my hair back so that my ear was right against his mouth. "You think I won't shoot you right now with your own gun?"
"Don't have it so you can't, asshole!," I laughed.
He slammed my head against the glass of the bread case. It didn't crack but it hurt like a bitch.
"I'd watch that pretty little mouth or yours, detective. Might get that partner of yours hurt!"
I pushed back against him but he had a tight hold on my hair, causing me to have violent flashbacks of my childhood. "Try something and I'll make sure you bleed out when we find you!"
I knew that gave him the knowledge that I cared for Sonny but I also knew that he would never go through with his threats.
He laughed at my taunts and leaned down. "Shall I leave you some clues to help speed things along? How about I carve my name into your boyfriend's chest, hmm?"
I pushed back against him and but cried at the tug of my hair. "What do you want, asshole?"
"I want you to fear me," he joked.
Just then the cashier came into view from the back. "Hey! Let her go!," the young man started to shout.
I waved him back, I didn't want this kid's blood on my hands. "Get back, kid!"
He tried to get near us when I felt a knife go to my neck.
"Listen to the little lady, son. Get back!," I could see his face clearer now because of the mirror next to the counter. He looked good for his age in honesty. Now I had a clear mental image of him. The young man ran to the back room.
"You better hurry, old man. He's probably calling the cops right now," I strained against the hold he had on my hair. When I catch this sick bastard I'm gonna drag him by his own hair down the streets of New York.
"I could just take you with me. A little snack for the ride home?," he licked the side of my neck.
I shuddered. "Go ahead and try. I'll kick your ass before I let you anywhere near me."
He sighed. "Till we meet again, detective."
