We talked all night and he eventually fell asleep on my couch. I pulled a blanket over him and went to sleep in my own room. When I woke up he was still fast asleep. I decided to make some waffles but most of the stuff in my fridge was spoiled so I went out and bought a few groceries.
I was cooking while my eighties playlist played in the background. 
I heard a groan from the other room. "Wake up, sunshine!"
I heard footsteps coming towards me.
"Want some waffles?," I asked him once he stepped into the kitchen.
"God, yes," he took a seat as quickly as he could.

Liv called us in to get ready for court and she told me, specifically, to stay behind.
"I don't want you to sway the girls," she told me.
"I could help them! I could-"
"No, Garcia. If you've finished your paperwork then I suggest you stay home or go visit your family," her word was final.
I sighed and turned to Sonny. "Please update when you can."
He nodded. "I will."
"Tell Barba he better help those girls."
Sonny chuckled. "I will."

*Sonny's POV*
At the courthouse I told Barba about what Maia said this morning.
"Did she threaten me?," Barba laughed.
I shrugged. "Yeah, I guess."
"I'll do my best, from what I can tell these girls are gonna get roughed up by the trio's lawyer."
"We have a good case against them though."
Barba nodded. "They should have let Garcia on the stand."
"Lieutenant pulled her off the case, she was too close to it."
Barba shook his head. "Still, could have used her."

*Garcia's POV*
"I see you've brought a friend," my therapist nodded to Zen.
"Yeah, she's been really helpful."
"I'm glad. So let's dive in, shall we? How's work?"
Shit. "Fine," I looked away when I said this.
"Please, Maia, let's not avoid this. Unless you would like to talk about your family?"
I took a deep breath. "Work has been rough."
I told her about me going undercover and how I betrayed those girl's trust. She listened and basically told me what El had said last night. She told me to go back and talk to them once this was over if I needed that closure. I had an idea on how to do it too.

I was at home making Ramen when I got a text from Sonny.
Sonny: there's gonna be another court date for tomorrow but it's looking good
I sent him a thumbs up. I felt as if I had been holding my breath all day waiting to hear something from someone. After this whole ordeal I will find a way to talk to the girls. I missed them despite what they thought.

It got to be too much when I went through the box of stuff I got to keep from the job. The clothes from when we would do group acts, the small gifts they gave me, and the polaroids I took when we went out. I ordered Chinese food so that I could eat through the pain in my heart.

Sonny came by when he got off of work.
"Lieutenant is getting suspicious about us," he walked in and took a seat on my couch.
"Us? Why would she be getting suspicious," I joked.
"She told me to tell you that once this trial was over it would be ok for you to come back to work. As I was heading out."
I looked down smiling to myself. "Can't wait."
Sonny nodded. "They asked about you today before court."
I looked at Sonny. "They did?"
"Yeah. Lou told them that you were pulled off of the case. You were too close to this."
Good. She told them the truth. "And? What did they say?" Knowing the girls, they weren't gonna hold back their feelings.
"They looked sad. One of them, Pearl, called us dumbasses."
My heart! Pearl! I needed to see them as soon as I could, they needed to know that I do care about them.
"Barba told them that you did care about them. That you threatened him to help them out," Sonny looked at me.
I smiled at that. If Barba wins this I'll buy him a drink.
"What happened, Maia? I always hear stories about people getting in too deep when they go undercover, is that what happened?"
I looked away from him, debating on whether or not to tell him the whole truth. "I made friends. The best of friends anyone could ask for."

What I won't say is that one night while we were out drinking a guy got handsy with me. I fought him off so he left but when we went outside he was waiting for me. He grabbed me but the girls were there and immediately started in on him. Hitting him, slapping, and kicking him away from me. He ran off and the girls walked me home.
"We won't let anyone hurt you, sugar," Pearl had told me.
I won't let anyone hurt them either.
