Shadow went through the forest trying to find the herb that her mentor had been talking about. She was thinking that borage leaves would work but apparently they wouldn't. He was saying something about a new herb called seaweed that tastes bad but helps with the milk as well. She scrunched up her nose at his words but ended up following along. She had to trust him or most of those kits would never survive.

The dark furred rouge found the river and looked around the edges like her mentor told her to do. She soon spotted a few things of tall grass like greens in the rocks. She wadded over to it carefully and pulled on it to get them out. It didn't work right away. She soon heard her name being called.

"Shadow! Hurry up! Muddle is giving birth now! She needs you!" Brown's voice called to her. She pulled away from the herbs and looked at him.

"I need these few strings of seaweed. It's what will make these kits live. Please gather them for me and meet me back at the camp. Thank you Brown." She said getting out of the water quickly. The dark brown tom headed over the weeds in the water and started to pull them out.

Shadow headed toward the camp as fast as her legs would let her. She would not let this queen die even if she was a rouge. She was part of her family now and she would protect her. She entered the camp to the yowling of Muddle and Night and Pebble looking confused. There were three meowing kits at Muddle's stomach already trying to get milk.

"Night, go and help Pebble with the kits. I'll take care of this." She told him and quickly switched places with the big tom. She always thought he was mean but he looked to vulnerable at the moment.

The first kit she saw was a black and white tom. She pulled the kit out and passed him over to Pebble and Night so that he could be cleaned and licked so he could live.

The next kit was a shecat that had light brown fur. She helped Muddle and got the tiny kit out then passed her over to the father and sister. That was already five kits and there were still several to come. She had to do this though.

"Come on Muddle, you are doing fine. I can't tell how many more but they aren't hurting you at all. Just keep pushing until I tell you to stop." Shadow warned the female and saw two kits trying to get out. She flicked her tail and caught them both. Two males. She passed them to the other two and saw Brown come back with the seaweed. They might actually be able to get through all of this with no deaths if that was even possible. These kits would take a tole on everyone, but it was completely worth it.
