Shadow crossed over the border quickly and checked to make sure the two brown toms were still following her. She sighed in relief as they didn't bother to stop at the border and wait for one of the patrols like her and Brown had done before. She quickened her pace slightly wanting to get there quicker now more than ever. She was almost at her birth clan's camp. She was almost at the place she had called home until she was eleven moons. She was almost at the place that casted her out along with her parents and sibling for something she didn't do or even think she could do. She was going to show Junglestar what had happened and what he could do to save the future.
"Shadow! Slow down! You are going to wear yourself out before we even get there." Mud's calm and peace loving voice called from behind her. Shadow looked back and noticed she was ahead of the two by about ten or more fox lengths now. She breathed heavily and waited for the two to catch up.
"I'm sorry. My thoughts are going everywhere and they are telling me to run. I'll try to go slower from now on. It's only around twenty or so fox lengths away now." Shadow told them as they caught up. They both nodded and the three started up again.
Shadow stayed in the lead since she was the only one that knew where she was going. Even if it had been almost six moons since she had been in the territory, she still knew it better than a rouge would have. She had spent five moons exploring the territory. She knew where the rocks where, the leaves fell, everything. That was her advantage compared to the two toms with her.
Soon, she scented a few cats near them. They still had a few more fox lengths until they were at the camp so she guessed it was a patrol. She felt the wind blowing at her with the scent so she knew they didn't have to meet them unless the wind changed its direction. She still knew she had to be careful or they could easily get to where the wind was blowing at them and pushing their scent at a group of cats.
Shadow slowed her pace again as she came closer to the camp. She could easily scent all the cats in the camp. It was so strong. Brown and Mud looked uneasy behind her but she just smiled trying to make sure they weren't too worried.
"They won't hurt you. I'll be here with you and Junglestar has been waiting for me for a few moons by now. He will recognize me and let you stay with me." Shadow said with a bright smile at them. They both had their fur slightly fluffed up but relaxed it slightly. They both nodded as they headed toward the entrance of the camp going into only StarClan knows what.
