It was the morning after a tough fighting lesson in StarClan with Sunwish. Shadow woke up slowly to see Mud nudging her softly with his paw. She blinked her light brown eyes up at him trying to think for a moment. Did she have to go and do something? She was so sore from her dreams that she just wanted to rest.

"Hey, come on. I need to talk to you about something and we only have this time until Night wakes up. I don't want him to know about this yet until I know for certain. Get your lazy bones up and hurry up for this run." Mud said nudging her again. Shadow looked at him and blinked her eyes trying to process what was going on.

"What is this about? What do you want to tell me?" She asked him curiously but mainly because she was scared. He did say that Night didn't know at the moment so that was better. Whatever he didn't know, was usually good.

"Not here. When we get farther away from the camp, I will tell you. Hurry up and keep up with me if you can slowpoke." He said sending a wink to the dark grey feline like he usually did for their morning runs.

The two quickly headed out of the camp with their paws hardly touching the ground. It felt like Shadow was flying in the air. She never felt so free in her life. She looked to Mud next to her. He was keeping up but barely. She could see him breathing heavily but didn't want to admit it. She soon saw a clearing and headed toward it quicker. Mud tried to keep up, but he failed.

"Let's stop here. You need a break. You are panting and we aren't even halfway out there." Shadow teased the brown male as it quickly sat down letting out his deep breaths trying to get it back. She was a little winded, but not nearly as bad as him.

"You are like the shadows you know. You are the quickest cat I know." Mud said looking back up at her with a smile.

"Shut up and let me do the talking you mousebrain. You need a little more time before you should be talking again. Anyways, if this about Brown? I've seen him escape the camp a few times at high moon. I've always wondered where he went but I didn't want to be soon leaving." Shadow said before finally becoming quiet as it looked like Mud finally had his breath back. He cleared his threat and smiled at her.

"You and your Clan language. No matter how long you spend out here, you will always use it. I find it cute. It fits you and being out here doesn't. It's not about Brown. It's about me. It's about you. I want you to leave. I want you to run away from here. I want you to be safe because I like you, Shadow. Since you got here, I've liked your loyalty to your sibling and your love for adventure. Please, I'm begging you. Leave! You won't be happy here with me." Mud explained before putting his head down.

His weak voice was back. He had been doing a good job hiding it until now. Shadow didn't know what to say. She stared at him in disbelief. The male liked her. She wasn't sure what to say. He wanted her to leave. She could have done that at anytime. She had no clue what to do for once in her short life.

I really need to speed this up. 10 parts and only a moon in. Whoops.
