The young rouges entered the camp quickly. Mostly everyone was still asleep but there was one kit trying to steal some prey from the prey pile even though he didn't have any teeth to chew it with. Shadow sighed in relief and walked over to the kit realizing it was Patches who was the first one to open his eyes.
"Hey Patches, what are you doing there?" Shadow asked the small kit with a small giggle. The kit turned to the female quickly with his eyes wide. It was easy to see the fright in the two different colors as he must have thought she was an intruder.
"Shadow! You are back! I was getting something for mama and sister to wake up to. Want to help me?" The young kit asked in a whisper as he was trying to drag a sparrow down from the small pile.
Shadow giggled and grabbed the sparrow in her jaws and headed over to the makeshift nursery for all the kits. She saw all the other eighteen kits curled up together with Pebble and Muddle. She let out another sigh of relief as she saw them all alive. She placed the sparrow by the two female queens and curled up by them and the kits. She let the two toms go to their own den and stayed with the kits.
Shadow woke up to the meowing of al the kits. She put he paws over her ears not wanting to hear them but finally gave up. She turned over seeing the three kits that she had been taking care of before she left for the clans had crawled back to her. Their eyes were all open now.
"Hello my little ones. I see your eyes are open. I wonder what mother named all of you." She purred then looked at Muddle for all the names of the other eighteen kits.
"Yes, I have named them all. Pebble had to help. I wish you could have been here to see them get named." Muddle purred and started to list off the names of all the kits.
The small little tom that didn't weigh much ended up getting named Feather. The lighter brown tom that she had was named Nut. The other female that her light grey fur was named Smokey. Those were Shadow's three kits' names. She smiled at their names and curled her tail around the three licking each of their heads.
There were other kits too. Including Patches, Feather, Nut, and Smokey, there was still Berry, Bracken, Finch, Gem, Hail, Juniper, Lark, Navi, Parsley, Quill, Rill, Scratch, Tawny, Torrent, Whisk, and Whorl. Shadow was rather surprised at the cute names all the kits had and only laughed once as Quill and Rill since their names rhymed.
"I love all the names Muddle. You two did a wonderful job naming them all. Now I need to go talk to Night about something and I'll be right back." Shadow said getting up and heading to find Night.
