Shadow entered the SmallClan's camp. Eyes turned to her and Heatrumble ran to her side first and spotted Smokey.
"Someone go get Tallstalk now!" He yowled to the rest of the clan and went to Shadow's side so she could lean on him. "Are you okay? Was it Eagle?" He asked but she didn't say anything.
The white tom that was the medicine cat hurried out of his den and spotted the kit. "I'll try my best. Just take her to my den. What happened?" He asked the dark grey shecat.
Shadow headed to the medicine cat den and placed the small kit in one of the nest and looked at her. She still wanted to cry but she wasn't going to.
"Eagle... I went to find Mud and she found him first. Smokey followed me and when she went to attack him, she jumped in the way. She got thrown against a tree. I wanted to save Mud, but he told me to just run." She whispered looking at the small kit. She just had to live or she would have lost the two cats she loved the most by the same cat.
"She might have broken her spine but I don't think so. See her tail? It's still moving. If she broke her spine, it wouldn't be moving. She might not be able to walk for a while, but I'll make sure she can survive. Thank you for bringing her to me." The tom said before shooing her away. Shadow took another look at the kit before going back to Heatrumble.
"It's okay if you want to cry. I can see it in your eyes. What happened to the pack?" He asked her. She frowned before looking around for Junglestar or the deputy.
"Where is Junglestar? He needs to know about this." She whispered not letting herself break at the moment. She looked at Heatrumble and saw his face change.
"He died. He was murdered. I'm sorry Shadow." He whispered staying at her side. She just nodded.
"Then who is leader now?" She asked him carefully.
"I am. Your sister killed him and the deputy. StarClan sent a sign to Tallstalk that I was to be leader next." Heatrumble, Heatstar now, said quietly.
"I'm happy for you, can I stay in the clan? Just until my kits are apprentices. I have to find my sister again and kill her." She asked the tom she was friends with. Her eyes were weak like the rest of her.
"I would always allow you to come. Come on, I'll get you a nest in the nursery. Redear is in there with three kits but I'm sure you remember her. You two used to be friends too." The tom purred and lead her to the nursery. Inside there was a ginger shecat with three kits at her stomach asleep.
"Good to see you again Shadow. I would help you get a nest, but with these kits asleep, I can't do anything. They just fell asleep." She purred.
