Shadow had a nice team. She had Berry, Feather, Gem, Lark, Nut, Quill, Scratch, Torrent, and Whorl on her team. None of her's could blend in with the snow like Hail could but she had some of the females on her team. She was careful as she walked not to knock of Smokey. She still had to go and find the moss ball but that wasn't very hard. They had to throw the moss ball in the leader's den without the other team stopping it. They also had to protect the nursery and make sure Heatrumble's team didn't score in it.
She had set Quill up to defend the nursery since she was a great jumper and had quick reflexes. In front of the small shecat, she had Scratch and Whorl helping her a little up. In front of them was Berry, Gem, and Nut. They were small but strong. They held the middle of the field. A little more in front of them on offense, there was Feather and Lark teamed up. They were both quick and could toss the moss ball really far. In front of them was Torrent. He was the quickest and quietest. He would make an excellent scorer.
On Heatrumble's team, there was Whisk, Tawny, Rill, Parsley, Navi, Juniper, Hail, Finch, and Bracken. They were set up to protect the leader's den and try to score in the nursery. Heatrumble seemed proud in his team even if he didn't know all their strengths. After all, he hadn't spent their entire lives with him like they did with Shadow. He did have more of the males than Shadow did so he thought that would win it for him.
He had a similar set up to Shadow's team but an extra one of defense instead of offense. He had Navi guarding the leader's den with Whisk, Juniper, and Finch in front of her. In the middle of their team was Rill, Parsley, and Bracken. They were the three biggest of his team so he thought that could stop the other teammates even if they didn't have speed. For his scorers he had Tawny and Hail on it. He knew Hail blended in with the snow so he was using that to his advantage to score. He just hoped that his little plan of faking that Tawny had the moss ball worked so that Hail could get to the nursery and score.
"The moss ball has been found. Are both teams ready?" Smokey announced from the back of Shadow. The dark grey older shecat had the moss ball in her mouth so she was letting the younger one do the announcing.
"I'm ready to beat you to a pulp!" Heatrumble laughed a good belly laugh as he perched himself up by the Medicine cat den. Shadow rolled her eyes playfully and nodded.
"Then the first game of moss ball shall commence! Shadow, will you do the honors?" The small shecat said getting into the announcing. Shadow nodded and threw the moss ball into the air.
