The game kept going on. Heatrumble's team finally scored twice in a row and Shadow's team hadn't scored again. They had the ball now. Shadow curled her tail around her paws as she watched the game.
"Come on Shadow's team! You can do it!" The dark grey shecat cheered as she smiled. The kits were doing good and getting better at the game.
It had been a good while since they started the game and they had only three scores. They were getting better at watching and hunting their prey. They didn't all just charge at each other. This was also helping their battle skills. If they could stalk someone instead of charging straight on, it would be better for them.
Shadow heard the crunching of the snow under someone's paw and scented Mud's scent. She smirked and looked at the kits. "Who wants to scare Mud?" She asked quickly gathering them all back together from their game. Smokey stayed on her head and Heatrumble came to her side.
"I do! I do!" They all cheered. Shadow flicked her tail and smiled.
"Alright. We will use these new skills for hide and seek. Find a place where no one else is and hide there. Once he enters the camp, count t five and then we will jump out and jump on him." She smiled and nodded to Heatrumble. "Heatrumble here will check and make sure everyone is hidden before he leaves as well." She said.
"Awe! Why can't Heatrumble stay? We like him being here!" Feather whined but Shadow shook her head.
"He doesn't belong here with us. He's a clan cat. I will explain more later. We have to hide now! Go, go, go!" Shadow stage whispered causing the kits to run off in different directions. Smokey jumped off of Shadow and headed toward the dens.
"I'm sorry. I wish I could stay longer." Heatrumble whispered before going to check after all the kits and make sure they were all hidden.
"It's okay." Shadow whispered and hide by the entrance using the shadows and leaves there to help hide her. She knew he wouldn't be able to see her and rested there.
She actually had huge news to tell him and this was how she wanted to tell him. She had found out the news last night but didn't have the time to tell him before he left. She was still worried about Brown too. He should have been back by now.
"Shadow? Where are you? Where are the kits?" Mud's voice asked worried. She smirked and slowly counted toward five. This was definitely going to scare him.
One. She crouched down lower to the snow readying herself.
Two. She bunched up her haunches to spring at him.
Three. She kept eyes on him as he kept looking around for everyone.
Four. He was coming closer to her.
Five. She sprang from her hiding spot and tackled him into the snow. The rest of the kits came out of their places and jumped onto the pair of cats covering them in kits.
