Mitch ended up staying the night at Scott's house, surprisingly Scott asked him to and of course Mitch wasn't going to say no to that.

It seems after that night, they became inseparable. Mitch never left Scott's side, and Scott didn't mind, because it was nice to have someone that actually wanted to be around him.

"Mitchy! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever," Kirstie pouts as she walks up to Mitch in English.

It's been a few month since Scott and Mitch became really close with each other. Mitch pretty much forgot about everyone else around him, including Kirstie. He didn't mean to forget about her. Really. It's just... Scott exists now and he likes spending time with him. Which isn't helping his crush on Scott.

I'm sorry. How about we hang out today?

Kirstie grins and nods. "Sounds fun. What should we do? Get our nails done?"

Mitch nods excitedly.

I haven't had my nails done in forever. Today after school?

"Yes. Text me when after school and we-"

"I thought you were coming over to my house today?"

Mitch blinks a few times and looks over, and blushes when he sees Scott now beside him.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know Mitch already had plans?" Kirstie frowns.

"I mean it's fine... I don't mind. We see each other every day," Scott says.

"So, you're the one stealing my best friend?" Kirstie asks, crossing her arms against her chest.

Scott's eyes widen when he sees the look on her face. "I-I'm sorry... I... I didn't mean to..."

Kirstie giggles. "I'm just messing with ya! I'm totally not mad at all," she says.

Scott rolls his eyes. "That was cruel," he mumbles with a pout.

Mitch's heart almosts melts at the sight. Scott is just so cute, and he just wishes they could be boyfriends, but he's pretty sure that Scott doesn't see him that way. He's too shy to ask him anyways...

Mitch looks over at Kirstie and smiles at her, glad his two friends are getting along.

We'll talk more later. At lunch.

"Cool," Kirstie smiles and then she skips over and sits in her seat.

It was at lunch when Mitch is sitting with Kirstie. Scott is working on extra credit in the library.

"So, are you and Scott like, dating now or something?" Kirstie asks curiously.

Mitch's eyes widen as he looks up at Kirstie with shock.

Why in the world would you think I'm dating Scott?

"I don't know... maybe because you're with him every second of every day. And, I see the way you look at him..."

We're not dating.

"Really? That's surprising. With the way you two hang out so much," Kirstie says. "Do you like him?"

Mitch blushes and looks down at his hands.

Kirstie gasps. "Oh my gosh. You do so totally like him!"

Mitch's eyes widen and he quickly reaches over to cover Kirstie's mouth with his hands. He looks around to make sure that nobody is listening to their conversation. He sighs and then he grabs his pen and paper.

Okay, yes. I do like him. But don't tell him or anybody!

"Why don't you want him to know?" Kirstie asks.

Because he still has a hard time opening up to people. I don't want to scare him away.

"But, he's trusting you, isn't he? He told you what happened?" Kirstie asks.

Mitch nods.

Yeah, he did. He told me the day that it was the anniversary that it happened. I'm glad he trusts me now. I really wanted to be his friend and now we're like best friends.

"Well, just be patient with him. Don't tell him how you feel unless you feel it's right," Kirstie says.

So, how's you and Jeremy?

Kirstie smiles. "Really good! He treats me like a princess,"

He better treat you like a princess. I'll chop his head off if he ever mistreated you.

"Mitch!" Kirstie laughs. "I appreciate you. You're a good friend."

Mitch grins and then he reaches over and hugs her. He's grateful to have a friend like Kirstie.
