"No," Scott says as he crossed his arms against his chest.

"Scotty," Mitch whines as he crawls closer to his boyfriend. "Please?"

"No, Mitch. I'm not going to be his friend," Scott snaps, looking away from Mitch.

"You don't have to. Just be nice," Mitch says, reaching up and turning Scott's face so they were looking at each other again. "I already talked to him. He's really cool about it. Can't you be too?"

"I can't believe you went and talked to him behind my back. After everything he did to you!" Scott yells.

Mitch flinches slightly at Scott's raised voice. "Please Scotty," he whispers sadly. "For me?"

Scott looks over at Mitch again and he frowns at the disappointed look on his face. "I'm sorry Mitch but, how could you be friends with him again after everything he put you through? He was nothing but a possessive boyfriend and never let you hang out with any of his friends. Then he did that whole rumor thing just because he was jealous that you were dating me. What if he does the same thing again?"

"Then I'll cut him off for good. Please, give him a chance?" Mitch begs hopefully.

Scott rolls his eyes. "Fine. But he only gets one chance. If I see him being remotely mean to you or... flirting with you or uh, something that I don't like, then I want him out. I know he still likes you and I don't want him stealing you away from me. He already almost did that once, remember? And it was recently!"

"He won't steal me away from you Scotty," Mitch assures him, plopping down next to Scott on the bed. "I don't want to be with anyone but you. Avi is totally out of the picture."

Scott wraps his arms around Mitch and squeezes him tightly.

Mitch giggles as he hugs Scott back. "I love you too," he says.

"I love hearing you say that!" Scott grins. "By the way... what are you going to tell Kirstie about Avi?"

Mitch groans and hides his face in Scott's chest. "Don't remind me," he mumbles.

Scott laughs. "If you think I was hard to convince... you've got another thing coming," he says.

"Are you out of your mind?" Kirstie yells, throwing her arms up. "Hell no I'm not forgiving him!"

"Kirstie, please," Mitch begs, trying not to cry in front of his friend.

"Avi treated you like shit. You cannot just forgive him like that. Avi is not a good person," Kirstie says.

Mitch glares at her. "You're not a good person!" He yells back at her.

Kirstie gasps and her eyes widen. "Take that back!"

"What's going on?" Scott asks as he wheels himself up to the two.

It's the next day at school, things were not going well with Mitch talking to Kirstie about Avi.

Mitch huffs angrily and crosses his arms against his chest.

"Mitch is being a complete idiot and he's letting Avi back into his life again after everything that boy did!" Kirstie exclaims. "Are you aware of this? Surely you wouldn't let him do that."

"Kirstie, it's not your decision. Mitch can hang out with who he wants to hang out," Scott says.

"You're joking me. You're actually on his side?" Kirstie asks, scoffing.

"Kirstie, he's the one who was hurt by Avi. It's his decision. It's not like he's asking you to be best friends with him. He's just asking you to be civil with Avi if he's ever around. It's not that hard to understand,"

"Don't talk to me like that," Kirstie snaps. "Avi is a piece of shit."

"That's good to know,"

Kirstie looks over and blinks a few times when she sees Avi standing behind her. "What do you want?"

"I saw Mitch, and wanted to come and say hi to him," Avi says, shrugging his shoulder.

"What are you planning?" Kirstie asks as she walks up to Avi.

"I'm... not sure what you are talking about?" Avi raises his eyebrows.

"Why do you want to be friends with Mitch again? You don't deserve his friendship after what you did,"

"Well, that's not up to you, is it? I already talked everything out with Mitch," Avi says.

"What?" Kirstie asks as she looks over at Mitch. "Does Scott know you talked to him alone?"

"Kirstin, he's not twelve years old!" Scott exclaims. "Just because we're dating doesn't mean I control what he does at all times. I told you... it was his decision. Was I a little pissed off when I found out? Yes, but who cares? God, I'm so sick of this drama." He rubs his hands across his face.

Mitch frowns and gently places his hand on Scott's shoulder.

Scott looks up at Mitch. "I'm sorry Mitchy... I'm not saying it's your fault," he says. "We're teenagers now, and we should start acting like teenagers instead of middle schoolers. I don't understand why it's so difficult to get along with each other. I mean, hell... if Mitch is willing to be friends with Avi after everything that went down then we should be able to. Come on, Kirstie. Let's just move on from this."

Kirstie looks up when she hears the bell ring. "I gotta get to class," she mumbles before turning around and walking away.

Mitch sighs and shakes his head. Of course Kirstie would be so stubborn.

"See you later?" Mitch says as he looks up at Avi.

Avi gives him a small smile and a nod. "See you later, Smalls," he says before walking away.

"Smalls?" Scott asks as he looks up at Mitch.

Mitch laughs and starts pushing Scott into the school. "Just a nickname, Scotty," he says.

"That's a weird nickname," Scott mumbles. "Did he call you Mitchy?"

"Sometimes he called me that, yeah..." Mitch says. "Do you need to stop at your locker?"

"No. He better not call you Mitchy anymore. That's my nickname for you," Scott warns.

"But you have like tons of nicknames for me," Mitch laughs. "Kirstie calls me Mitchy sometimes?"

"But Mitchy is my favorite so he can't use it anymore," Scott says. "And Kirstie is different. She's your best friend and she's a girl. I know Kirstie won't try flirting with you any time soon."

"Ew. That would be weird dating Kirstie. She's my best friend. Anyways, my favorite nicknames are angel, baby girl, and princess," Mitch grins. "They make me feel special. I like when you call me those."

"You are special," Scott says as he looks up at Mitch.

Mitch grins and leans down to kiss Scott once before pushing him to first period class.

Scott just hopes that bringing Avi into their friend circle won't ruin his and Mitch's relationship. He knows that Avi still has a thing for Mitch even if he doesn't want to admit it out loud. Hopefully Scott will be able to make things work out with Avi so he doesn't have to worry about that in the future.
