Okay finally. Here's the double! I hope this story isn't moving too fast.

Should I slow it down or keep it the way it is? What do you guys think? :)

Mitch's eyes widen with shock. He glances down at Scott's legs before looking up at him.

"It was a car accident..." Scott begins, his eyes watering up.

Mitch shakes his head quickly.

You don't have to tell me. It's okay. I know it must be hard for you.

"I need to tell someone. P-Please just... let me finish?" Scott begs.

Mitch bites his lip and slowly nods, leaning against the swing.

"I was twelve when it happened... we were on our way to a family vacation to visit Aunt Claire. She lived in Florida at the time. It was late when we were driving... a-and someone hit us. It was a drunk driver that had hit us. But it got way out of hand. Our car flipped. I tried to get everybody out b-but my legs were stuck under the seat from the crash. The police got me out, but they couldn't save my f-family in time. I lost my p-parents and my sisters," Scott's full on crying by the time he stops talking and he doesn't realize he is until a tear falls onto his hand.

Mitch is shocked by the time Scott finishes. He wishes that he could comfort him and tell him how brave he is for going through all that at such a young age. But he can't do that and he hates it.

Mitch hesitates before reaching over and hugging Scott, hoping he wouldn't get pushed away.

When he doesn't get pushed away, he hugs onto Scott tighter.

Scott closes his eyes as he relaxes and lets Mitch hug him, relieved to finally tell someone what happened. He's been holding it in for so many years and being angry at the world and everyone around him. Scott probably would have exploded if he hadn't told anyone soon.

Scott doesn't know how long they sit there like that for for, but surprisingly... he doesn't mind it.

"Scott?"

Scott looks over and blinks a few times when he sees Aunt Claire on the porch.

"It's dinner time, you should come in now," Claire tells him.

"Can Mitch stay for dinner too?" Scott asks, biting his lip.

"Oh, um... perhaps he should call home and make sure it's okay?" Claire suggests.

"Okay. We'll be inside in a second," Scott tells her.

Claire smiles and then she turns around and walks back into the house.

Scott looks down and smiles a little when he sees that Mitch has actually fallen asleep on him. He really doesn't want to wake him but they can't stay out in the cold, and mostly because he looks like an angel sleeping.

"Mitch?" Scott asks softly, gently shaking the boy. "Come on, Mitch. You gotta wake up. It's dinner time."

Mitch moves around a bit before his eyes slowly flutter open. He blinks a few times with confusion as he looks around before his eyes finally look up at Scott.

"You fell asleep. I didn't want to wake you but Aunt Claire says it's dinner time. Do you want to stay over?"

Mitch bites his lip before reaching over and grabbing his notebook.

If it's alright with you, I'd love to stay.

"Of course it's alright with me but... you should probably make sure it's okay with your parents first. I wouldn't want them to worry about you or something," Scott says.

It's fine. Mom knows where I am. I told her I would be out for a few hours.

"Okay, cool. Let's go inside-" Scott reaches over and grabs his wheelchair. He pushes himself up and slides himself into his wheelchair. He looks up at Mitch once he's seated.

Mitch smiles at Scott and then follows him into the house.

"You boys must be freezing, especially you Scott. You've been out there the longest,"

"It wasn't that chilly outside," Scott says. "Well, I kind of got used to it..."

"I could always make some hot chocolate later," Claire grins.

"Maybe," Scott says. "But for now... I'm starving. What's for dinner?"

"Tacos. I'm glad you're hungry because I made a lot," Claire says.

"That's okay. Mitch is staying so he can help us eat it," Scott tells her.

"Oh, lovely. Did you make sure it was alright with your parents?" Claire ask Mitch.

Mom already knows that I'm here. It's fine.

"Great. Why don't you have a seat next to Scott? I'll get the plates," Claire says.

Mitch smiles at her, and then he sits down in the seat next to Scott.

"We don't normally have a third person eating with us. Usually it's just the two of us," Scott tells Mitch.

Are you sure you don't mind me being here?

"I don't mind at all," Scott says. "It's... kind of nice, especially since we don't have school."

For two whole weeks! I'm so excited to catch up on sleep.

"Tell me about it," Scott says, rolling his eyes.

Mitch grins. Scott's finally opening up to him and Mitch is happy. Maybe they can be friends.

It's about twenty minutes into dinner when Scott breaks the silence suddenly.

"Aunt Claire?" Scott asks, looking up at Claire nervously.

"Yes?" Claire asks, immediately looking up at him.

"What's your opinion on gay people?" Scott asks hesitantly.

Mitch instantly stops eating and looks over at Scott in surprise, surprised he asked so soon.

"Oh, um... why do you want to know my opinion about gay people?" Claire asks.

"I was just curious," Scott says. "What do you think of them?"

Claire shrugs. "I don't really have an opinion. I'm fine with them. They don't bother me. Love is love,"

"So, you wouldn't kick me out of the house if I told you... I was gay?" Scott asks.

"That's a silly thing to think!" Claire exclaims. "I would never ever kick you out for that. You're my nephew, and I don't care if you love boys or girls. I promised myself that I would take care of you after..."

"It's okay Aunt Claire, I told him what happened," Scott tells her. "I needed to tell someone."

"Oh... that's very surprising, but I'm glad you were able to talk about it," Claire smiles.

"Yeah, I needed to let it out of my system. It still hurts, and I'll never get over it but... I have to try," Scott takes a deep breath. "I'm still pissed that I have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life."

"And you have every right to be," Claire says. "After dinner... I am giving you the biggest hug."

"So, you're okay with me being gay?" Scott asks, blushing.

"Absolutely," Claire smiles. "And yes, I support you too Mitch."

Mitch looks up and he also blushes.

Thank you so much, and thank you again for letting me stay over.

"Well, thank you for being someone that Scott can trust. I'm glad he found a friend in you,"
