Three days at the new apartment and things were already not going well for Scott and Mitch.

They had already gotten into an argument which ended with Scott in tears and Mitch storming out of the apartment. Scott knows it's mostly because Mitch is stressed and hasn't gotten any sleep due to the fact that they were sleeping on the floor. But, that doesn't give Mitch a right to take his anger out on Scott.

Scott doesn't know when Mitch is coming back, even if he is. Scott needs him, now more than ever.

Scott is currently sitting on the floor in the living room, his back propped up against some pillows. The floor definitely isn't the most comfortable place to be sitting but there's not much Scott can do.

Scott looks up as soon as he hears the door open, hoping for it to be Mitch.

"Scott? Mitch?"

Scott sighs as soon as he hears Kirstie's voice, and not Mitch's. "In here,"

Scott hears footsteps coming closer, and then he looks up and sees Kirstie with a smile on her face.

"Scotty! It's- why do you look so sad?" Kirstie asks, quickly rushing over to him.

"H-Have you talked to Mitch?" Scott asks hopefully.

"He texted me earlier when I told him I was on the flight. That's the last I heard from him. Why?"

Scott frowns and slouches against the pillows. "We got in a fight. I-I don't know where he is,"

"Wait, hold the phone. You and Mitch got in a fight? I thought you two were doing so well?" Kirstie asks.

"We were. Mitch is just... stressed. W-We just moved in and we don't have anything done yet because I'm fucking useless and can't do anything to help him. His dad had to go back this morning so now he really can't do anything. Kirstie, I really don't know if me coming here was a good idea," Scott sniffs.

"Scott, don't say that. And, you aren't useless. You're right about the stress thing though. Sometimes when Mitch and I study for a test or something he would get frustrated or stressed and he would snap at me, and we would argue about it. I know this is a much bigger deal than that but it's not your fault," Kirstie says.

"I just hate sitting around here and not being able to help. I... I want to learn how to walk again,"

"What? But... I thought you said that you lost all feeling in your leg," Kirstie asks.

"Kind of. I mean... I can stand up, just not really well. The doctor always hinted that there could be a chance that I could walk again. I just need to find a really good physical therapist to help me," Scott says. "And... I eventually wanna propose to Mitch, and I don't want to have to propose to him in a wheelchair."

"Oh my gosh... no, wait. I have the perfect idea. What if you propose to him in a wheelchair, and then spend a couple years working on walking again, and then you surprise him at your wedding!"

"Really? You think Mitch would wait that long to get married?" Scott asks, raising his eyebrows.

"I mean... you don't have to propose right away. Wait a couple of months and let things settle down here while you're in L.A. I'm sure Mitch will be busy anyways with the singing stuff he's planning on doing," Kirstie says. She squeals excitedly. "My best friends are going to get married!"

"Now, hold on..." Scott chuckles. "He might not even say yes. I mean, we're fighting right now."

"Well, I'll knock some sense into that boy so don't you worry," Kirstie says. "Now show me around! I'm so excited to be sharing an apartment with my best friends. This is going to be so fun."
