Trigger Warnings: mentions of suicide

****

"I'm sorry Scott. I tried talking to him but he wouldn't listen to anything I had to say," Kirstie says with a frown, wishing there was something more she could do for her friend. All she wanted is to see both Scott and Mitch happy.

Scott hangs his head in shame, feeling very ashamed for accusing Mitch of cheating on him like that. He should have known better. It was Avi. Of course Avi was going to try to make Mitch look bad.

Things were going so well between him and Mitch, and then he had to go and fuck everything up. Scott probably just lost the one thing that was keeping him alive. What if Mitch never forgives him?

It was Friday when Mitch went into school. He walks into his first period class. He hasn't talked to Scott at all since the incident with Avi in the bathroom. He's still too upset to talk to him yet. He knows it was a big misunderstanding but Mitch has every right to be upset with Scott. Or, at least... he thinks so.

"Oh, hello Mitch. Is Scott with you? He hasn't come in yet,"

Mitch blinks a few times as he looks up at the teacher, and then he looks over at his and Scott's table. Scott is always the first one to class because it's easier for him to navigate around the classroom when there isn't a bunch of other students scattered around.

"Not here?" Mitch whispers, frowning. Why does he have a horrible feeling in his stomach that something bad happened to Scott? Mitch quickly runs out of the classroom and runs to the bathroom.

To Scotty <3:

From QueenMitchy:

where are u? are you okay?

Mitch waits a couple minutes, but he doesn't get any response from Scott.

Mitch let's out a frustrated noise, and decides to call Aunt Claire.

"Mitch? I really can't talk right now..." Claire says when she answers the phone.

"Where's Scotty?" Mitch asks quietly. He doesn't want to get in trouble but he's worried about Scott.

"He's at home," Claire says. "But now is not a good time..."

"Is he okay?" Mitch tries again. "Is he hurt?"

"He's not in the best place right now Mitch, and I'm sure you know why..."

Mitch takes a deep breath. "Did he try to kill himself again?" He asks, his heart pounding against his chest.

"Not exactly but I know his head isn't in a good place right now. There's so much going on and I feel like he's at his breaking point. Maybe it's best if you two stay away from each other right now," Claire says.

"No!" Mitch coughs a few times. "N-No. I-I want Sc-Scotty..." He sniffs. "Please."

It's silent for a moment before Claire finally sighs in defeat. "You can come over after school,"

Mitch gasps, feeling relieved. "Thank you!" He says before hanging up the phone. He rushes back to class before the bell rings. He walks over to the teachers desk. "He's not coming today."

"Okay. Thank you for telling Mitch,"

Mitch takes a deep breath and walks over to his desk. He looks up when Kirstie walks over to him.

"What's going on? And where did you go?" Kirstie asks.

"Scott, going to see him today," Mitch tells her. "I'm worried."

"Well, yeah. I am too. I tried to talk to you but you didn't want to listen," Kirstie says.

"Sorry," Mitch mumbles before looking down at his hands.

"I'm sure Scott is going to be fine. You just need to talk to him about what happened and work things out,"

Mitch slowly nods. He hopes he'll be able to talk with Scott. This whole thing is just one big mess.

The rest of the school day went slowly but as soon as it was finished, Mitch rushes to Scott's house.

"I hope you'll be able to talk to Scott," Claire says as she lets Mitch into the house. "He hasn't eaten or spoken a word at all today. I'm really starting to worry about him. But maybe seeing you will help."

Mitch smiles a little. "Thanks," he says. He starts walking towards Scott's bedroom, but stops when Claire grabs him. He blinks a few times as he looks over at her, feeling a little bit scared.

"This is the last straw, Mitch. If you hurt my nephew one more time... you'll not be able to see him again,"

Mitch's eyes widen and he nods his head quickly. She finally lets go of him and he runs to Scott's bedroom. He gently knocks on the door before slowly pushing it open. Mitch looks up and bites his lip when he sees Scott lying on the bed, curled up in a ball. It's obvious that he's been crying and it breaks Mitch's heart to know that Scott has been crying. He doesn't want Scott to feel sad anymore.

"Scotty?" Mitch asks nervously before walking over to the bed. He walks around it so that he can see Scott's face. Mitch starts reaching up but pulls his hand back when Scott flinches. "Scotty..."

"Go away," Scott mumbles in a low voice, almost scaring Mitch.

"Please Scotty," Mitch begs, crawling onto the bed. "Talk?"

Scott tries to turn away from Mitch but Mitch grabs him and holds onto him. "Scotty, I love you..."

Scott looks over at Mitch with wide eyes, but Mitch doesn't know why he's so surprised as they have said 'I love you' to each other multiple times already in their relationship.

"D-Do you really?" Scott asks, sniffing. "Do you still like Avi?"

Mitch quickly shakes his head. "No. No more Avi..."

Mitch pulls out his notebook from his bag, prepared to write a long speech for Scott.

I don't love Avi anymore. How could I love him still after everything he did to me? He took advantage of me and humiliated me in front of all of our classmates, and then he started that rumor about me. He's the one who still likes me. He's jealous because I've moved on and found someone new. I don't want to be with anybody else but you. I understand it seemed like I kissed him the other day but he kissed me first. I was talking to him about how I was with you and he got jealous. Please believe me. I love you, Scott. Not him.

Scott takes a deep breath once he finishes reading the note.

"I..." Scott bites his lip. "I'm just... so tired. I'm tired of all this drama."

Mitch frowns. "I am too," he says. "We need to work together. Stay together. Ignore drama."

"Why can't Avi just leave you alone? He's the dumbass who took advantage of you," Scott mumbles.

Mitch giggles and scoots closer to Scott. He reaches down and kisses him. "I love you,"

Scott sighs in defeat. "I love you too Mitchy, and I really am so fucking sorry for thinking that you would actually cheat on you with Avi. I know that you didn't kiss him first," he says.

Mitch smiles, and then he kisses Scott again. The kiss continues this time. The two usually never kiss like this but for some reason Mitch is suddenly feeling confident.

Mitch hesitates before climbing on top of Scott and straddling him. He pulls away from the kiss.

"Is... this okay?" Mitch asks nervously. He doesn't want to cross the line with Scott when it comes to being intimate with him. Not that they've been really intimate with each other anyways.

"More than," Scott smiles as he looks up at Mitch. "Why are you so nervous?"

"I don't want to hurt you," Mitch says with a blush.

"I may not have any feelings in my legs but I'm not delicate or fragile," Scott says. "You're not hurting me."

Mitch wraps his arms around Scott's waist and hugs him. He wishes Scott would be able to walk again, just like he is able to talk again. Scott deserves a happy ending just as much as he does.
